4A Games has re-confirmed that Metro Exodus will release on Steam on February 15th. This is one year after the game’s initial release on the Epic Games Store. However, the team does not currently plan to release the game on GOG.

We have no current plans to launch Metro Exodus on GOG in the immediate future.

My guess is that 4A Games – and Deep Silver – do not want to release a DRM-free version of the game. Thus, the Steam version will also feature the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. After all, Denuvo is listed on the game’s Steam store page.
We can also assume that, unlike Capcom, 4A Games does not plan to remove Denuvo from the game. Ironically, this decision will only “hurt” legitimate customers. After all, the game has already been cracked so most PC pirates have already played it.
Some may say that this DRM may protect the new DLC that will be coming out for Metro Exodus on February 11th. Sam’s Story will be the second and final DLC, so here is hoping that Deep Silver will reconsider and follow Capcom’s example.

That ship has sailed…
Not purchasing on Steam after protesting by not purchasing on Epic just tells them releasing on Steam isn’t worth their time.
Sales are the only numbers they see. If you want them to release on Steam, buy on Steam.
Right ! I’d like to do so but the situation on this one is a bit special, 1st the game was meant to be on Steam since the reveal, only to get pulled from the store 2 weeks before release. 2nd some random 4A dev/slave threatened PC players to not release their future games on PC if they pirate it (then the publisher/master put him back to his slave status)
3rd, almost all the support for the game was made by fans (who preordered on Steam) on the Steam forums, while the devs and the publisher were enjoying exclusivity money, and barely provided any support on their forums except for some generic sh*t like “update your drivers” and “reinstall the game”
I’ll buy their next game, if it’s good and not exclusive to Epic, but this one will never receive any money from me unless 90% cut with DLCs included
Hear, hear.
In addition to those reasons I was happy to have pirated Metro Exodus after having played the game and thereby discover how tedious and boring it was. I’ve enjoyed several play-throughs of the first two Metro games, both in original and Redux forms, but Metro Exodus was so boring that I uninstalled it before finishing the game even once!
I was expecting far better too, the game is good till you finish the first map, and then it goes downhill, the second map is average at best, and the third is a rushed none sense, and the graphics are what surprised me the most, while everyone is talking about the graphics of this game, it looked really flat and indy-like game for me on Ultra without RT, the art is doing most of the work, technically, it can’t even beat Crysis 3, perhaps it’s better with RT i dunno.
I think it has a more solid base than 2033/Last light, guns feel better, the AI is a bit better, same for the survival mechanics, but the open world structure was too ambitious for them, i’ll take a solid linear game over an unfocused open world any day.
You could just as well argue that seeing they can rely on Steam sales down the line will make them keep bending over for Epic.
In the end, I simply choose not to give my money to the publisher and devs because they’re both scum.
They can shove it deep in their f**** greedy a**
I hate to break it to you, but they’re all making games for money. None of them are doing anything for you.
The only thing I’ll show is my spiked bat so far up your crapper it’ll come out of your mouth.
Unfortunately, I know you’ll enjoy it, since your big brother is raping you every night in front of your inbred parents.
nice game, pirated it last year (haven’t finished it though). i recommend fitgirl’s release because the size is smaller.
I once tried to use one of his repacks, it takes a lot to install for some reason. At at times even gets stuck at a certain number.
never had any problem whatsoever.
Loose files are always the best imo. No installation and they come preinstalled.
None of that rar > iso > setup bs
It’s due to the strong compression they offer. That’s why it takes such a long time to install them.
-nice game
-havent finished it/
hmmm.
by your implication if i’m about to see the last cutscene in the game, i can’t judge a game because i still haven’t finished it but fast forward 10 seconds later, now i’m qualified.
you praise farcry 5 and assassin’s creed but trash this game, that alone and your recent nonsense rants and statements make me wonder if you have started to take dik in the a*s lately.
“trash this game”
when did i do that i said its the best post apocalyptic game in a long time.
you constantly cry about games, that’s your unpaid profession. you said this game is very boring multiple times.
not this game, the older one.
quit bullshetting, i remember you specifically said this game is trash because of its open world design.
???NO, i said that this game is good because it doesnt have a open world design but large open areas, so it doesnt end up becoming a collectathon bs like most open world games do.
You remember wrong.
No, i remember very clearly.
you remember wrong.
eat my poosy.
no it stinks
that’s my quote.
sorry
15 EUR?
I bet it will launch at least with 40€ price tag.
Thank you CPY
Too bad they never updated the one version they released. Hopefully we get a newer version with the steam release. One can only hope.
Usually cracking groups crack a game again when all patches and DLCS have been released.
both cpy and codex have not touched denuvo a long itme.
“no plans for a GOG release”
Yeah because they don’t want to remove Denuvo garbage.
I’m curious to see if they will add the previously released dlc as a sign of good will or something. But i doubt it..
If they cared about good will they would remove denuvo.
“thank you for your passion and patience”

Fernando Diaz triggered to downvote so soon! ?
Already pirate it, not interested in the DLCs after the mediocre campaign (the second act has a section that i would call it embarrassing in a Metro game, turns it into a poor’s man Call of Duty). They can f*ck off.
The other Metro games are on GOG. Exodus will be on there eventually. You might have to wait a couple of years, though.
Lost interest in the game a year ago, and now they’ve reminded me, I’ll gladly remind them to jog on. Not supporting the publisher for trying to soak up the userbase they willingly fobbed off, and I’m not supporting t he devs, who lacked the spine to quit the studio that was being controlled by said Deep Silver.
At this point why would they be concerned about having DRM in their game when it was cracked a week after it was released? Seems like a very odd decision if they are concerned about a DRM free version.
I don’t understand that way of thinking. Exactly who is the game being protected from when it’s been cracked Feb. 20, 2019. I don’t understand the penchant for paying for Denuvo and giving the paying customer the worse version of the game.
Um…. ya. Let me know when it’s $3.99 on a sale or something. Otherwise, go f**k yourself.
It will be soon enough. I’m right there with you brother.
God I hate Deep Silver & 4A Games with a passion. This Metro Exodus Business Was The Last Straw For Me. Metro Franchise Was the Only Franchise Left That I Really Cared About.
sad really
they didn’t have to partner with a publisher
they could have released it on steam and be done with it instead they actively tried to damage and tarnish their own product
I just don’t understand any of this. And why it has to happen. This wasn’t about “epic Exclusive” This was a STEAM Lock OUT. Why? Because with months after the game was released it was on Windows Store and then It released on Stadia. This is Clearly A STEAM LOCK-OUT. And now It’s clear that it’s a GOG-Lockout as well.
so much money they lose if it’s realesed in gog at the same time?
please people…. just play this on pc game pass for a few bucks. don’t support this awful game on steam.
Uhmmm No, i’m not installing UWP garbage on my PC. Gamepass can go Fuq itself. Microsoft knew just how to get y’all to sign over your consumer rights and accept it a very INFERIOR form of game a.k.a UWP. They gave you Gamepass, WHICH will not last and is in no way profitable at the moment. But in the long run once they get you hook on their version of DIGITAL CRACK. C’mon man….
Looks like I’m not getting Metro Exodus “in the immediate future” then.
I HOPE CODEX CRACKS THIS IN ONE HOUR
They.. uh, already did.
Maybe this guy was in a coma.
If it isn’t, at least 50% discounted, I will not buy this crap. Enjoy the bed you made!
stop censoring yourself child.
Worst game of the series.
i’ll f*k your t*ts
