Metro Exodus is coming to Steam on February 15th but there are no plans for a GOG release

4A Games has re-confirmed that Metro Exodus will release on Steam on February 15th. This is one year after the game’s initial release on the Epic Games Store. However, the team does not currently plan to release the game on GOG.

My guess is that 4A Games – and Deep Silver – do not want to release a DRM-free version of the game. Thus, the Steam version will also feature the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. After all, Denuvo is listed on the game’s Steam store page.

We can also assume that, unlike Capcom, 4A Games does not plan to remove Denuvo from the game. Ironically, this decision will only “hurt” legitimate customers. After all, the game has already been cracked so most PC pirates have already played it.

Some may say that this DRM may protect the new DLC that will be coming out for Metro Exodus on February 11th. Sam’s Story will be the second and final DLC, so here is hoping that Deep Silver will reconsider and follow Capcom’s example.
