Resident Evil 2 Remake has sold over 5 million copies worldwide

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2 Remake has sold over 5 million copies worldwide on all platforms. Moreover, the game was honored with Ultimate Game of the Year in the U.K. Golden Joystick Awards 2019—the highest prize awarded to games released in the current year.

In Resident Evil 2, players will delve deeper into the gripping events taking over Raccoon City, and follow the journey of rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they begin to uncover what’s behind the terrifying zombie outbreak.

Resident Evil 2 Remake used the RE Engine and looked absolutely stunning.

Back in May, Capcom claimed that the game exceeded its expectations. And to be honest, I’m pretty sure that these sales were crucial for green lighting the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Over the past few months, we’ve also seen some incredible mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake. One of them introduced a first-person camera viewpoint, while another one added a FOV tool.

  1. RE2 was pretty good with some minor complaints in changes. RE3 is more worrisome however, as Capcom continues to further “westernize” their games evermore.

    1. My only one issue, was the fact that headshots count for nothing, meaning aiming for the legs becomes the new defacto headshot, which really shouldn’t be the case, because we know damn well RE was born from Romero’s films, even most of the rules are taken from Romero, but with their latest RE titles, it seems they are totally tossing out the important rules for the less important ones.

      1. Headshots still give you like a 10% chance of an insta-kill with a handgun and a guaranteed insta-kill with a shotgun from up close.

  2. I loved Re2, the only real complaint I had was that I felt enemies should have been more mixed in their groups which was more of an issue in the labs than the police department, the first half of the game is much better imo than the 2nd.
