Blair Witch benefits greatly from Reshade Ray Tracing, comparison video

Digital Dreams has shared a new video, showcasing the visual improvements that the Reshade Ray Tracing mod brings to Blair Witch. Blair Witch is an Unreal Engine 4 first-person horror game that already requires a high-end GPU. Thankfully, though, there are major graphical improvements that may justify the higher GPU requirements that this Reshade mod introduces.

Thanks to the Reshade Ray Tracing mod, the game’s visual look way better. Alongside the post-processing Ray Tracing effects, we can also notice additional ambient occlusion effects. Thanks also to better shadowing effects, the game does no longer look as flat as its vanilla version. Now obviously there is a performance hit, however, Blair Witch is a slow-paced title. As such, I’m certain that some PC gamers will experiment with Pascal Gilcher’s Ray Tracing Reshade mod in order to improve its visuals.

Unfortunately, Digital Dreams has not included any framerate indicators, so we don’t know the actual performance hit that this Reshade mod brings. We can easily notice the choppiness in the video, however we don’t have exact numbers. So yeah, don’t expect playing the game with these graphics in anything less than powerful GPUs.

Speaking of Reshade Ray Tracing, some of you may find our previous coverage for it interesting. You can find an article about Batman: Arkham Knight, as well as an article for Borderlands 3 and Crysis 3.

Enjoy!

  1. Yellow filter with contrast = aPeX rEsHaDe rAytRacInG gLobAl iLLumInaTiOn [Must see] [2019] [Gone wrong!!]

  2. DSOGaming keeps presenting this garbage as raytracing, when all they are is some increased contrast and modified color grading.

  3. This has absolutely nothing to do with actual ray tracing. Why do Reshade users keep using Ray Tracing as buzzword for their presets?

    1. Exactly. DSOGaming keeps presenting this garbage as raytracing, when all they are is some increased contrast and modified color grading.

  4. I’ve finished this movie game and it is indeed very beautifully made.
And looks waaaaaaaaaay better in vanilla than with this reshade crap.
In some parts I was in awe with the graphics, but its attempt to scare is just a joke.
