Panache Digital Games has released a brand new trailer for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey in which it confirmed that the game will be coming to the Epic Games Store. The trailer does not feature any Steam logo so it’s safe to assume that this is another Epic Store exclusivity (though as most timed-exclusive games it will come to other digital stores at a later date).
Created by Panache Digital Games and renowned creative director Patrice Désilets, this third-person open world survival game will allow players to explore, expand and evolve in order to advance their clan to the next generation in the harsh, ruthless, yet beautiful land of Neogene Africa starting 10 million years ago.
According to the developers, EXPLORE is the first video of a series of three in which you will get to learn more about the main pillars of the game and its unique approach to the survival genre.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will be released later this year.

Valve integrated own Source Engine with Steam years ago. Epic unreal engine with integrated store will be good platform for game mods

I not disputing any of that just the ‘has to use “their” store’.
That’s because it’s also literally 10 years newer. Source hasn’t seen an actual public update since Orange Box.
And by “more advanced” that only means graphics. Physics in Unreal Engine have always been terrible. Performance has been terrible since UE3 and UE3 only looked better than Source if devs spent a lot of time making it so., Vehicles are still terrible in UE despite the fact that they’ve been a part of the engine since UT2004, for example.
In terms of playability, Source is still years ahead of other engines.
Not the Ubisoft ones.

DRM-free cant come soon enough. We fought for it with music purchases getting locked on iTunes, and we can do it with games.
Voluntary, healthy competition is a flat out myth that only exists in the wannabe richboi fantasyland. It’s never about winning over consumers with killer products and services, but juvenile wars between pampered coke sniffing fratboys where winners dominate over consumers. And consumers are always the causalities.

I was honestly interested in this from the little tidbit I saw yesterday b ut now I see its EGS exclusive.
I won’t even torrent it. Torrentign it shows interest and demand. No options, no download.
I haven’t even bought a game since RE2. Well except Soul Calibur 6 I picked that up for cheap and was promptly disappointed in the fact that they are using the same f*cking engine from SC4 and 5 with the same PS2 era graphics, and it has basically no customization options for the character creator even including the DLC. There are pron games with more robust character creation. Over five years since the last game and basically no change whatsoever,
And I don’t intend to buy any other new games besides DMC5,. unless an actual good game comes out. Maybe Three Kingdoms.
So while I’m still furious about Epic, on the other hand I don’t even care anymore. 2019 is going to be a terrible gaming year, even with Doom Eternal and a potential Cyberpunk 2077 or other releases.
