Star Citizen Alpha 3.5 feature

Star Citizen Alpha 3.5 is available on PTU and here are some beautiful screenshots from it

Cloud Imperium has released Star Citizen Alpha 3.5 on PTU (Persistent Test Universe) and our reader ‘Sean’ has shared with us some screenshots from it. These screenshots will give you an idea of some of the new areas and features that Cloud Imperium has implemented in it.

Among the new areas that are included in Star Citizen Alpha 3.5, Cloud Imperium has also implemented Asynchronous Disconnection Refactor which aims to improve efficiency and usability of the asynchronous disconnection code. Refactoring this will clean-up a lot of bugs such as infinite loading screens, server crashes, and client crashes, while also helping to assure that more of these issues don’t occur in the future.

The following screenshots show off the Area 18 landing zone on ArcCorp, as well as a new planet in the Stanton System covered with buildings and industrial areas.

Do note that this is the first version of Star Citizen Alpha 3.5, meaning that the build that will be made available to all backers may – or may not – include more bug fixes and additional improvements.

Cloud Imperium plans to release Star Citizen Alpha 3.5 to all backers in Q1 2019.

Enjoy!

  1. Im from the future. The year is 2119, Star Citizen Alpha 219.19 just got released!
    Star Citizen…forever in Alpha!

    1. Triple-A (SQ42 -solo game_ and Star Citizen -MMO) starting from scratch end of Kickstarter in Nov. 2012 with 12 guys, zero pipelines… and Beta in Q2 2020.

      5 quarters =/= Not in a century 🙂

    1. Well we waited 12 years for Final Fantasy 15 and you could easy spend more time in the SC alpha than FF15 whole game.

    1. Well it seems quite a few studios now even the AAA ones seem to be releasing games finished in name only.

    1. Those look really good, however there is one thing I’m curious about.
What kind of rocks reflects light like they do here?
I have never encountered any kind of rocks that reflects light in this way.

I play a lot of Ark Survival Evolved and this honestly looks like it could have been taken from that game, as they have this kind of light reflecting rocks.

        1. Maybe, but I’m not entirely convinced.
Can’t say I have seen ice reflect light in this way either unless it’s been wet.

Even so I don’t like it, as I’m somewhat sensitive to lights and I feel the light is blinding me.

          1. The game doesn’t have Global Illumination tech, unfortunately. So, it might have unrealistic light for now.

          2. I hope that will change as they progress.
The reflection of the light is just too much in my opinion.

  2. That seems to be the naysayers only argument now, after saying the game in it’s current state could never be done or run out of money. Mean while all Elite Dangerous players can only look at that planet concept art, the empty chair in their ship and pay to land on moons or planets with no atmosphere.
