NVIDIA claims that both GeForce RTX 2080 and GeForce RTX 2080Ti will play the latest games at 4K/60fps

At GTC Japan 2018, Jensen Huang claimed that both the GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti will be able to run the latest games in 4K with 60fps, even without DLSS. Jensen shared two graphics in which we see both the RTX 2080 and the RTX 2080Ti outperforming the current fastest gaming NVIDIA GPU, the GeForce GTX1080Ti, in 4K.

Of course this does not come as a surprise. We’ve already claimed that the RTX 2080 will most likely be a bit faster than the GTX1080Ti, whereas we expect RTX 2080Ti to be around 35% faster than the GTX1080Ti.

According to NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 2080 will be able to run the latest games in 4K with 60fps, whereas the GeForce RTX 2080Ti will be able to run them with more than 60fps. Of course this looks like an average number, meaning that there might be drops below 60fps on both the RTX 2080 and the RTX 2080Ti.

However, with DLSS enabled, NVIDIA expect to see a tremendous performance difference between its Pascal and the Turing graphics cards.

The first third-party benchmarks for both the GeForce RTX 2080 and the GeForce RTX 2080Ti will be published on September 19th, so stay tuned for more!

  1. Well my 1080 can also play the games on 4k/60fps if i set my graphics to low.
Would be nice if Nvidia can show some prove with game titles and graphics settings.

  2. look at the first graph
notice the leap between the Maxwell and Pascal?
now look at the SHORT distance between the 1080TI (which is a 699$ card)
and the 2080 (which is 800$ card)
about 7-10% gain according to the graph’s measurement

now if we measure the 2080TI (which is a 1200$ card)
to the 2080, we can see about 15-20% gain

    so that’s with ray-tracing off
which then i ask myself, is this really worth the money??

    1. Whether it is really WORTH the upgrade, is kind of hard to tell right now.

Because we need to wait for actual Gaming benchmarks from various TECH websites, to get the real performance/fps numbers.

Nvidia can “claim” all they want, by showing all these Graphs/charts, but the actual picture will only become clear when proper gaming benchmarks come out on 19 September.

Not saying it won’t be worth it, but I’m not buying into all this stuff right now.

These new RTX gaming cards are way much overpriced as well, at least in my opinion, but I can understand the reason behind this (due to new GPU arch, and other market factors).

      1. If you view the graphs with ray tracing on, you’ll see a hidden message that says “succers! Haha lol”

    2. I think the real problem is this: does AMD have something that can compete head to head with nvidia 1080ti? For nvidia is it worth it to completely replace 1080ti with 2080ti price wise when 1080ti have no competitor at the market? Also when it comes to the fastest flagship there is no such thing such “does it really worth the money spend on it” thingy. Just look 970 vs 980. $330 vs $550. The gap is even closer unlike how it was with 1070 vs 1080. Does the asking price for 980 really worth it over 970 when we look at the performance gap?

      1. archaven the ruseman is here to bamboozle us with his mischievous stratagems, will the DSOG community be able to see through his master plan?

      2. He’s just saying that no matter how powerful the Turings are they still can’t be used to play the Sony console exclusives. It’s a consoles are better than PC thing.

    1. Yeah stuck at stone age without any improvement or innovation with all of your complete a game by pushing a button “exclusive”

    2. Thats why I have a PS4 Pro as well. Havent dusted if off in months though. Waiting for a jailbreak so I can steal all my Sony shekles back for the glorified QTE games they sold me in the past.

  3. for the amazing price of 99999999999999999999$ You two can be disappointing by unoptimized games and empty promises.

    1. come to think of, which graphical games aside from Metro (which already looks like a rape child of Far Cry 5 and Last Light)
do we really need all that GPU power? hell the only game i’m waiting for is Bannerlord and some De la Croix from Warhorse studios

sounds like a waste of shekels tbh

        1. De la Croix is a meme about DLC from Witcher 3 Blood and Wine
Shekels is an all round term for money, because all of our money is owned and governed by Jewish bankers

          1. Oh that one I’ve missed. Thanks for explaining. Yeah I guess that makes sense, I had a friend from Israel and he always talked about shekels here and shekels there. Guess it can be applied to all currency lol.

  4. Pretty obvious they should be faster, but still the bloated price is for RTX, which apparently does not work on 4k at 60 fps. Or 1080p at 60 fps with the new Tomb Raider.

The high price is for pc gamers to test their new technology.

And if rumors are true and Microsoft and Sony partner with AMD in the next gen consoles, RTX with be an afterthought for developers and another bad implemented NVIDIA exclusive technology.

        1. >Complain about console ports and lack of innovation in PC tech
          >Real time ray-tracing in games becomes reality thanks to new hardware
          >Complain that it’s not cheap right away

  5. My trusty Maxwell Titan X Hybrid is still doing fine, 4+ yrs in, so I’ll be happy to wait for the 2nd crop of these cards.

    1. This is where I sit. I have a Maxwell Titan X, and really, I’m gonna hang on for another generation. The pricing of this series is absolutely idiotic.

      1. Wont get any better, just wait for the 3080. I bet prices will get even worse. Reminds me of the smartphone market. Expensive phones were 300.. somehow they became 1000. This year, they started having phones for 1200-1400. Imagine next year.

        Yeah.

    1. When have Nvidia ever “lied” about benchmarks and their new generation of GPU’s? I’ll tell you when… NEVER. If these slides are legit from Nvidia (and they are) then you can be assured that these cards will do what is represented in the graph.. It’s AMD who have had a bad history of over-estimating the performance of their GPU’s… not Nvidia… Remember the 2900XTX? Otr the launch of it’s successor the 3xxx series? AMD were right their saying those cards will compete with what Nvidia has to offer and they were out and out lying. Nvidia have no history of the same kind of B.S. The fiasco with the GTX970 is a different story and it’s not like they lied about the cards performance… Was the means to achieve 4GB shady? Yup. But the card still performed like it was suppose to and tbh it was much ado about nothing. The GTX970 was still an amazing card for the price and that is proven by how well it did in regards to sales. Bottom line is that people like you saying Nvidia lies about it’s benchmarks are simply ignorant and misinformed. And yes… the benchmarks that will be released after the NDA is up will prove this point. Where will you be then? Probably under a rock.

  6. Why Nvidia put GTX 1080 Ti under the line of 4K 60 fps ? my card can do 4K 60 and even more except one title (if i don’t forget) : Ghost Recon wildlands

  7. Given the 20-30% avg performance increase trend every generation, sure it will without RTX and DLSS. Considering we can already hit that mark in most games. (No AA) I’m not surprised about that at all. I highly recommend everyone to go out and try 4K @ 60FPS gaming playing with the IQ to see for yourself how capable our GPU’s are in its current iteration. (opportunity permits) I also recommend minimizing or disabling AA at that res.

  8. Ya, I think I will wait for someone “other than” the people profiting from the sales, to verify this claim in benchmarks.

    Thanks though, Nvidia.

  9. Yea but with RTX OFF witch is stupid.

They should just make a version of these cards without the RTX. And yea i know you can turn it off, but i just don’t want to pay for RTX bullshit you baboons.
