Dead or Alive 6 will release on February 15th, 2019, gets brand new gameplay trailer

KOEI Tecmo has just announced that Dead or Alive 6 will release on February 15th, 2019. In order to celebrate this announcement, the publisher has also released a brand new gameplay trailer that you can find below.

KOEI Tecmo did not reveal the game’s full roster but from this trailer we can see some familiar faces that will be coming back. Similarly to pretty much all other fighting games, Dead or Alive 6 will feature 3D graphics but will retain its 2D gameplay mechanics.

Now I don’t know if it’s just me but the fighting in Dead or Alive 6 feels a bit weird. It feels like the hits do not have any meaningful impact on opponents (and the hit reaction feels non-existent). It just feels like there is no weight, force or power behind the kicks and punches. Or at least that’s what I got from this latest gameplay trailer!

  1. Its a modded DOA5LR. Or the same game with new engine because there is no Virtua Fighter 6 released. This game is only for selling costumes. Later they releasing awesome clothes and swimsuits for $$$.

    1. Shimbori has been talking a lot about how they want to tone down the fanservice and appeal to the eSports crowd and mimic western comic books with their character designs, so the game is basically pozzed to hell at this point.

I remember him mentioning feedback from “overseas offices” back when they tried this for DoA5 and now with DoA6 too. Since the western branch of Koei Tecmo is based in California, I suspect some neon-haired soygoblin has been feeding KT Japan some bullsh*t about what the fans want.
