IGN has shared a new video in which Ubisoft gives us a tour of ancient Athens in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This video features numerous locations, from Piraeus to the Temple of Zeus and from the Theatre of Dionysus to the Akropolis (which we are pretty sure that players will be able to climb in order to synchronize).
In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey players will take control of their destiny and write their own epic odyssey as they journey to become a legendary Spartan hero.
The game promises to let players experience incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by their family, players will have to embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about their past.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releases on October 5th!

Don’t sleep on this game. AC: Origins was a fantastic game and this looks to evolve on that.
Origins was indeed a good game!. I love it, even bought the 2 dlc before i felt they deserved it. Mind you, got the whole thing in a 40% deal. Not worht 100$ not in a millenia.
Orgins was great. The only complaint I have (aside from the grinding) was that I felt like Ubisoft didn’t fully commit into making AC an RPG game.
So another HISTORY lesson for all of us ? Hmmm.
But on a serious note, and not comparing with the above game, ATHENS is really a beautiful city for sure. One must visit it.
its not, if you go to Greece, dont go to Athens. it looks like a slum with anarchist graffiti everywhere.
Every country worth a visit, don’t listen to anyone. I went to South Africa last year, everyone told me not to go there but i did anyway, visiting other countries truly opens your eyes.
Syria is not worth a visit.
It does but not at the moment. Keep your opinions to yourself and respect their culture and nothing will happen. Although if i was jewish i wouldn’t visit these countries even if they weren’t in a mess. It’s just trouble.
lol no its not. Its only worth if you’ve been to every country in the world.
at the moment it’s not worth it unless you want to prove someone that you’re “tough” in a cringy way but it does worth visiting later on specially if you’re a history geek.
The engine doesnt do ancient Greece justice, its too muddy, just like origins, its not bright and colorful. Id argue that just cause 3, titan quest, talos principle age of mythology all looked much more like Greece than this origins reskin.
games, movies and even books exaggerate ancient empires and their cities. this does look like an over exaggerated ancient Greece, unless you’re a Greek yourself then you’d say something like “they didn’t capture it’s real glory, blah blah”.
are you a Greek?
It’s a moot point because today’s Greeks have little in common with the Greeks of old, Hellenes.
I know but still, ancient people and empires were far different and less sophisticated than what majority of people believe.
I beg to differ. Current generations have a lot to learn from Ancient Greece and Roman Empire. Even the word you’re using “sophisticated” is derived from greek sophism.
So?because i used the word “sophisticated” we have a lot to learn from ancient Greeks and Romans?Greek cities weren’t anything like you see in the movies or this game for example, same goes for their conquest of Persia and many other events. Greeks were masters of propaganda not to mention they wrote the history and if you check Persian sources they have conflicts with each other. My point is mainstream media over exaggerates an already over exaggerated history (not just greco-persian wars). Are there anything to learn from these people?yes definitely but i’m against believing whatever bullshit they throw at you.
By the way i’m not discrediting anyone, i just don’t believe bullshit when i see it.
I will repeat myself it doesnt look like Greece while the games above do, it feels like a origin reskin.
I’m guessing its a slow pacing mission that requires you watch someone walk around Athens for 7 hours…. which happens to be every Assassin’s Creed gameplay.

Two and a half years ago Ubisoft said the following:
“This year, we are stepping back and re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We’ve learned a lot based on your feedback. We’re taking this year to evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we’re delivering on the promise of offering unique and memorable gameplay”
Sure Ubisoft, sure…
