Agony slightly censored to avoid an “Adults Only” rating, PC version will have a patch to remove censorship

Madmind Studio has announced that its upcoming first-person survival horror game, Agony, has been slightly censored in order to get an “Mature” instead of an “Adults Only” rating. And while the team did not reveal the full lists of the things that were censored, it reassured fans that none of the elements players have seen in Agony’s promotional materials (gameplay, trailers, screenshots, GIFs) have been censored.

As the team noted:

“Many of you ask us what exactly we had to censor, fearing that the game you have been supporting for years will not be the same experience you hoped for. We do not want to list exactly what’s been censored due to possible spoilers, but it is important for you to understand that none of the elements you have seen in Agony’s promotional materials (gameplay, trailers, screenshots, GIFs) have been censored. Do not be afraid, the full version of Agony is much heavier than what you’ve seen so far anyway.”

What’s also really cool here is that the PC version will receive an optional patch that will completely remove this censorship. As such, PC gamers will be able to enjoy the game the way it was originally meant to be played.

Agony will release later this year on the PC!

            What amuses me most about the parlous state of modern gaming journalism is that such sites expect us to believe they’re covering, previewing and reviewing the games of the triple-A industry in an independent, honest and unbiased way when their jobs depend of the money and preferential treatment from those very same games’ publishers.

The emotional narrative is very like TLOU, children side kicks, mother dies in GoW(part of the narrartive), Daughter dies in TLOU(part of the narrative), mother of Sam and Nathan dead in Uncharted 4(part of the narrative), Horizon Zero Dawn Rost who rases Alloy dies early in the game(part of the narrative).

          2. No matter how good or bad God of War 4 turns out to be, i STRONGLY suggest you to black list these websites from your credibility list:

            6) VG

            Of course, avoid big U.S American paper websites at all cost.
            If you REALLY can’t let go of the mainstream reviewers , your best bet would be Gamespot which is still not good enough.

            What do you want? if you just like the Sony brand and you want an echo chamber where you can all just share similar opinions and agree with eachother regardless of accuracy , then sure stick to what you’re doing right now.
            But if you truly want to be informed , be as objective as you can , and load yourself some ammo facts for real discussions….you have a long way to go.

Playstation fanboy started it, GoW has no place here and putting up an image of a game Playstation owners havn’t even played yet, a masterpeice because critics say it, they do this for all their exclusives not matter how casual or dumb down they are. It’s a great game for Playstation owners, that’s about it because it’s made for them, meanwhile millions of PC users carry on playing the games they like and are not interested in Sony Exclusives because they’re never coming to PC anyway.   13. If Outlast II with its graphic gore and sexual violence can get an M… what the hell goes on in this game to justify an AO rating? The last AO rated game was Hatred and it was bland and boring. And the shock value dies after the first level, something that the M rated Postal kept consistent.

    On top of that, some peeps think by posting sarcastic Memes/Gifs under such articles which may have some controversy, they might get some attention or upvotes, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

    It’s uncomfortable to watch those funny Memes/Gifs under such comment section or Forum, at least for me, because it’s not necessary.

    It’s sad that the site’s author JOHN has given the members full rights to post any sort of comment, be it bashing/taunting others, or verbally abusing anyone on the internet.

      But seriously, this site isn’t moderated properly for the most part but when the One Year Trial elapses? You are here pretty regularly here so you could offer your help to be a moderator. My opinion of you based on your comments is that you would make a good choice.

      One thing I’ve learned over the years from observing web site moderation is that there are 2 paths to fail as a moderator. Being too strict and being too lenient. The gray area in between is what makes or breaks a moderator in most cases.
