After more than 13 years, Advent Rising receives a new update on the PC

Advent Rising is an action-adventure third-person shooter that was originally released in 2005. And after more than ten whole years – to be precise after 13 years – Majesco released a brand new update for it on Steam.

According to Ryan, an associate producer at Majesco, this update improves and makes the experience more enjoyable on modern-day systems. Majesco also plans to release more patches/updates for this game in the future, something that really surprised us.

As Ryan said:

“We first launched Advent Rising in 2005 and to this day we’re constantly amazed and humbled by the dedication and love shown to the game by fans. Even here at Majesco, Advent Rising holds a special place in our hearts. While we don’t have any new titles to announce at this time, I’m pleased and excited to announce that we have various updates planned for the original game, starting with an update to make the experience more enjoyable on modern systems.”

Majesco will reveal more details about this first update that is already available for Advent Rising soon, so we’ll be sure to update this story with the changelog once it’s available!

    1. 14 years? 😀
all jokes aside it’s a great game and i cant w8 to play it again on 16:9 aspect ratio

  1. It was one of my Favourite games back to the time. However, I’m still not able to fully understand the story.

  2. Great ideas, amazing soundtrack, nice featuers, very cinematic. But crappy controls, awful enemy spawnings and so many bugs. I wish they rebooted it as AA and try again.

          1. I disagree. There are games that have remakes or reboots that they did not deserve and Advent Rising does deserve for its potential.

  3. Honestly this is not a good game. Irrespective of the controls the story is less than great and the level design has huge expanses of emptiness as filler. Orson Scott Card was right to pull his name from the game.

    1. 1. I don’t believe you.
      2. The PC version was even more poorly optimized than the Xbox version.

I’m sorry you have a soft spot in your heart for this game; you should look at getting that removed. Game’s trash.

      1. 1. I do not care.
        2. It’s not true, I’ve played it on PC several times and I have not had optimization problems or bugs.
Advent Rising is a cult game.

  4. This game deserves a reboot. It could be with another story and characters or not, but keep those fabulous super powers so well done.
