For months Windows 10 UWP protection seemed like uncrackable. Contrary to Denuvo, Microsoft was able to secure a number of its titles for more than a year. And from the looks of it, things are about to change as the Windows store UWP protection has been cracked.
Scene group CODEX was able to crack Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection; a game that was released back in October 2017. What’s really interesting here, though, is that according to CODEX there were five layers of DRM in Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection.
These five layers of DRM were: MSStore, UWP, EAppX, XBLive and Arxan. Whether these layers were used in other UWP games and whether they had any performance impact on them remains a mystery.
Naturally, we won’t allow links and those who decide to share any will get banned.
Right now, pretty much all forms of DRM have been cracked. Microsoft’s UWP was the only one that remained uncrackable but that’s not the case anymore.
It will be interesting to see whether Microsoft will update its UWP protection in order to make it difficult for the hackers/crackers to crack the future games. This is something that Denuvo is currently doing by introducing new versions of its anti-tamper tech as soon as its latest version gets cracked.

It was only a few months ago that Microsoft were telling us how wonderful their new Game Mode in Windows 10 was on account of it being able to disable unnecessary background processes and yet here we are seeing UWP games on their Windows 10 Store that have five layers of DRM in operation. There are some suggestions that multiple DRM layers can have some affect on CPU usage, which does screw over the paying customers and not the pirates which is a bit crappy.
Judging from what we’ve seen of 40+ years of application and game development, my judgement would err on the side of the DRM being badly-coded, optimised crap, but that’s just my 2 cents… 😛

Strangely, I also see the the ARXAN anti-tamper being removed as well, which is same like Denuvo in my opinion, as it just bloats the game’s EXE file, with unnecessary virtual machines.
It had great code protection against reverse engineering though.

You must have missed the initial forza 7 articles at launch until it was patched and somehow fall update fixed it for most users it run better than forza 6 on my pc.
As for forza 6 just search on google forza 6 apex stuttering you will see people with high end pc skylake i7 and 1080 having stuttering to this day.

Well in this case im not the only one suffering those issues a quick google search “forza 6 apex stuttering” will five you a lot of results on forums with people with variable pc specs.
I already know its probably my cpu fault because this game max out 2 cores but on those forums people with skylake i7 cpu are also complaining about the same issues.

I wish that happens, but unfortunately MS won’t ditch Windows 10 OS at any cost.
They are more keen on releasing new updates, and versions of Windows 10 OS, let alone abandon it.
They are already dropping support for Windows 7 and 8.1 OS users, so this really hurts, to be honest.
