Modder ‘GPUnity‘ has released a brand new version of his HD Texture Pack for NieR Automata. Version 0.43 remasters A2 from scratch, overhauls the desert textures, updates various textures and assigns the Tetures to folders based on in-game location.
Those interested can download this latest version of GPUnity’s HD Texture Pack for NieR Automata from here. Its download size is 785MB but when extracted it’s 1.22GB, so make sure you have enough free hard-disk space.
Do note that this HD Texture Pack requires Fix Automata Resolution mod. In order to install the HD Texture Pack, you’ll simply have to extract the ZIP file in the game’s main directory.

In the 2nd comparison, it bothers me more that the steel beams look superimposed due to the lack of Ambient Occlusion.

It still amazes me how this is being sold off as a AAA game, yet the port job was bad and the textures show that it’s not even close to being AAA.
There hasn’t been a single patch released even up to this day iirc.
Still didn’t stop it from being one of the best games in years.
Good gameplay does not excuse it from sh*t performance.
Nor does excellent performance excuse sh*t gameplay ex:Wolfenstein.

Once again gamers do what the idiot Publisher/Developer was too lazy to do. This is a $60 game and it hasn’t even been patched one damn time? They have sold well over 2 million copies and they just ignore any issues?

Denuvo protects the exe. FAR nor this texture mod tampers with the exe.
So again, tell me how Denuvo is meant to stop something that doesn’t interact with what Denuvo protects.

I don’t get the kerfuffle… It’s really not that much of an improvement and wasn’t like some kind of eyesore to begin with.
The game’s great. High fidelity visuals really shouldn’t be the deal breaker they’re being made out to be.
