AMD has just released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.1.1 alpha driver addresses the crashing/launching issues that some gamers experienced on a variety of DX9 games.
Do note that this is an alpha driver. As AMD noted, this alpha driver has not been fully tested by AMD and is not recommended for general use. As such, the red team recommends using it only if you’re experiencing those DX9 crashing/launching issues.
Apart from this, this new driver does not bring anything new to the table. No new optimization tweaks and no new bug fixes. In other words, AMD users that do not play any DX9 games should avoid using it as it’s similar to the previous official and stable version of the Adrenalin driver.
