MachineGames has just released the first beta patch for Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. According to the release notes, this beta patch restores the Steam overlay functionalities, and adds driver version detection and dialog.
Furthermore, this beta patch re-enables Async compute for AMD graphics cards. Do note that Async compute requires the latest AMD driver 17.10.3 (you can download it from here). On the other hand, this beta patch also disables Async compute for NVIDIA’s GTX1080Ti GPUs.
Last but not least, this beta patch resolved an issue affecting the deployment of full game files in Japan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

- Right click the game in your Steam library.

Max Hass.
This patch disables Async compute on GTX 1080 Ti and enables it on AMD GPUs ? WTF ? hope that next update won’t disables other things.
Go to computer base, and look at the results, they disabled the async for nvidia but the fps acctually got better, so for now is a win-win situation.
LOL Nvidia can’t async for sh*t.
Why bother when not many games use it and not many games use DX12 or Vulkan because they’re immature, DX11 is mature, all those years of DX11 code paid off, they’re not just going to throw it all away just because DX12 came along and AMD said so. NVIDIA made their GPUs for DX11 because DX12/Vulkan are irrelivant.
Fun fact. Google “about Zenimax” and look at the Board of Directors from the first hit (their website). Zenimax owns Bethesda and Wolfenstein. Robert S. Trump President, Trump Management, Inc. Yup, that is Donald’s brother. LOL at this games marketing and corrupt game journalism giving this very mediocre game better scores than Doom. (IGN gave Doom a 7.x and this game a 9.x). It’s backfiring to. Sales lower than previous game.
Do you think Robert S. Trump has something to do with the high ratings of Wolfenstein? If anything, since liberal media hate Trumps, games coming from his company should receive worse notes.
Would that require the “liberal media” to perform some investigation to follow the trail back to Robert Trump? Last few years of games journalism I’d be taken aback if I heard they did any form of actual journalism.
The liberal media would have a logic paradox and self-destruct because, on one hand, the game is about a multi-cultural band of rebels killing white Nazis… BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, Trump’s brother is involved in some way. They won’t know whether to support or bash it.
journalism? You mean like investigate? You mean like give a platform to both sides of the argument? You mean like reporting the truth and not your biases? You mean like recusing yourself and not covering your buddies in a article? You mean minimizing harm instead of maximizing it for clicks?
Who does these things? Who believes that nonsense? The society of professional journalists you mean? Ethics? What are those?
I am STEPHEN TOTILO AND I LL HAVE YOU KNOW I HAVE A MASTER DEGREE IN JOURNALISM…..but i tell my journos to write articles as if they talking to their friends in a bar.
Boy this takes me back to 2014.
Yes i know about that. Man this game is 6 hours long with 3.5 hours of cutscenes. It has horrible level design and story, well iguess the sjw journalists will like it even though its full of plotholes and unfinished arks and horrible dialogues.
Why on earth is this game getting good reviews and gamespot puts up videos saying that this is how as sequel should be?
NO, a sequel should be above and beyond the previous game. Akrham city was a sequel, rise of the tomb raider was a sequel, evil within 2 was a sequel. This is not even on the same scale as mankind divided which was pretty dissapointing. This is like resident evil 5 kind of sequel.
I cannot find a better example of corrupt games journalists in recent history. But i suppose i should not confuse malice with stupidity. After all we talking about journalists who cant play cuphead, praise lootboxes because they cant be bothered to grind and say stupid stuff like “if you use the world gameplay you need to re evaluate your priorities” after the backlash he got for making an article about how great it is that the new creed game lets you skip combat.
Who is their audience? Its not gamers thats for sure.
if you skip the cutscenes it’s about 3-4hrs of boring gameplay because you need to stealth in higher difficulty levels.
Speaking of stealth, the previous game had levels made for stealth and for action. This time they said they design it like far cry, to play them the way you want. Meh, not really there are times that if a commander gets alerted enemies appear right behind you, there is nothing right behind you, where did they come from? This game is so poorly thought out.
The stealth in this game is literally exactly the same as New Order. Stealth, kill a dude with a knife or a silencer, move along.
Who is their audience? Its not gamers thats for sure.”
I im gamer and loved the game. Yes, you biased as fu*
You are the exception not the rule.
As for bias, i think i would take a look at what the oldschool fps community likes and what doesnt….and this game isnt it. GGmanlives is good example.
I’m a gamer and I loved it. The truth is you and your idiotic friends don’t speak for or are representative of all gamers. And the views of some random Aussie who’s own fans are calling him a sellout for make preview videos for Ubisoft don’t mean anything either.
This game IS above and beyond the previous game you pathetic twatwaffle.
It does exactly what a sequel should do and it did so literally according to a formula. It recreated the story, environment, action, themes, and gameplay of the first game, but better and longer. Again they quite literally went according to a checklist. Certain parts are almost identical to New Order, such as:
– Space level just before the big finale that involves stealing the codes to a a pretty dank superweapon
So, winning runs in the family? What’s your point?
And the game supposedly has a very pro-SJW, “anti-white” narrative… as I understand it. So Trump supports SJWs now?
Your message is all scrambled and incoherent.
It doesn’t. Stop listening to what you read from butthurt crybaby Trumpos like durka durka. It’s not even remotely anti-white or SJW.
How can a game made by some pure white Swedish guys who’s hero is a white square jawed blond buzz cut blue eyed super man be in anyway anti white? Please stop repeating this untrue bullshit.
When numerous characters in the game, including B.J. at one point, scream at the bad guys FOR BEING WHITE… then that is anti-white racism. I don’t know how much more simply I can explain that to you.
Is it “anti-white” or anti-Nazi?
I cannot keep repeating myself. If you can’t understand words the first time I say them then the problem is yours not mine.
No need to be obnoxious; I’m asking you whether that’s actual fact or just your interpretation.
Trump was with the democrats all those years, but hey lets not talk about that because obviously Trump is this one demensional boogeyman that cant possibly be anything but this evil monster the press has created.
FINISHED today, and it feels unfinished, so many points in the story left open, some not even covered, also that gun in the pic…i never got it…
6 hours, 3.5 hours of cutscenes. You got 2.5 hours of repettive gameplay. All the levels are essentially corridors. bunker corridors, sewer corridors, uboat corridors, space station corridors, condemned buiding corridors. Like FEAR and unlike the last 2 games that had great level design. Also you fighting the same enemies over and over again. All of that for 60 bucks with a cringefest of a sjw story with a ton of story arcs that were never finished.
9.5s everywhere.
Wtf is wrong with games journalism? This is litteraly an unoptimized new order dlc ported to doom 2016 engine. You get the whole suit upgrade gameplay mechanic 70% through the game. Feels like i got half the game. Where is the rest of the game?
Guys done waste your 60 bucks wait for a deep sale.
i agree, the whole game is not that good, unlike the new blood. bj’s background felt like it was added for internal giggles…
oh and btw, that gun can be found on a commander after the venus level, its a pistol grenade launcher (name too big).
I think over the years gamers have lowered their expectations. There was a time when I looked forward to getting the PC Gamer magazine and read about the latest game reviews but ever since the Dragon Age 2 review I lost respect for them. The thing is it wasn’t a bad game it just wasn’t anywhere near a 94 out of 100. Maybe journalists are afraid to critically review games anymore or they lose clicks but it’s just as useless as the gamers giving a game a 0 on Metacritic.
“Wtf is wrong with games journalism?”
How long have you got?!
Whenever I go to Metacritic, I just look at the User score and completely ignore the critic score. 🙂
The game journalists are out of touch with reallity, they dont appeal to the consumer they appeal to a bunch of priviliged hipsters like themselfs.
Good lengthy game with good value for the consumer?
MEH
2 hour interactive movie about some lesbians.
BEST GAME EVER SO PROGRESSIVE.
Also lootboxes are good as long as ea and the likes are giving us money.
Games journalism is dead.
“According to HLTB it’s 7 1/2 if you rush it”
If you rush it its 7 hours. Ok and i saw walktroughs going to 6 hours with 3.5 hours of cutscenes.
Playing it normally may get you 9 hours but the previous game got to 10-12 hours.
Saying it “playing fully” means nothing, howlongtobeat uses estimates on how long it takes to do EVERYTHING and by EVERYTHING they mean freaking achievements. Who cares about achievements? Even after you do the sidemissions and upgrade all weapons and your character completly it does not get to 20 hours no matter how much you want it to get there.
I think you are confusing content with length. If you do every single wolf3d level in old blood, you can get to 8 hours. But thats not new content in the game, just some areas that you can play the old wolf3d levels. Just because they recycled some areas so you can replay them to kill a few more nazis, that doesnt make the game longer, they just recycle areas. By that logic metal gear v is over 200 hours if you do absolutely everything. I finished fallout 3 in abou 90 hours with all the dlcs, however most of those hours were essentially copy paste.
Thats not good content. This game is not like half life 2 or return to castle wolfenstein or unreal. Its a short game lacking on content, re using levels does not count as new content just like a horde mode with 20 levels of difficulity is not new content. Heck look at batman games, there are a ton of “challenge maps” that you unlock as you play through the game and collect, collectables. But i wouldnt waste my time with that. They are the same levels i played in the main campaign. I already did that. You dont have to do absolutely everything to get value out of your money, absolutely everything is not good content worthy of your time.
Game is still criminally short for 60 bucks no matter how you try to justify it.
You don’t own the game. Go back to the steam forums you worthless trash.
That’s a bullshot and I’m pretty sure even those guns aren’t in the game.
Still on the fence about this game. I loved New Order and Old Blood, but some of these side characters that B.J. is allied with, I want to shoot them in the face, too, not help them.
Man, i liked the pacing of old blood. One continuous ride, perfect pacing and lengthy maps. Awesome level design. This game on the other hand its short, filled with cutscenes you spend more time watching 3d models move and talk than killing nazis, awful level design, generic simplistic corridors and the story is utterly cringe. I liked the last 2 games because they had level design similar to dunke nukem and half life, this game is more like your typical tacked on singleplayer campaign on top of a multiplayer game. I could make a better campaign than this dissapoitment. It just doesnt have good missions and enviroments. Its like machine games run out of ideas or something. Also out of time, its too short.
That is a fantastic bullshot.
