Amazon States Epic Mickey 2 PC Is Cancelled, Studio Getting Closed According To Reports

Epic Mickey 2
Man, this sucks. Remember when we were the first ones to inform you about the PC version of Epic Mickey 2? Well, sadly everyone, we’ve got some bad news for you. Amazon started sending emails to all those who pre-order the game, claiming that they got word that the PC version is officially cancelled, an information that came straight from Disney itself (according to Amazon at least).
In addition, various reports suggest that the studio behind the game is getting shut down. Spotted by IGN, the Twitter account of Robert Space Industries (the crowdfunding platform that is behind Chris Roberts’ upcoming Star Citizen project) has spilled the beans.
As Robert Space Industries tweeted:
“Fare-the-well Junction Point! We hope that you all find new studios soon!”
Ouch. According to IGN, Epic Mickey 2 did not sell as good as its predecessor. Our guess is that Disney decided to cancel the PC version due those low sales, though a digital release would still make sense. Perhaps the publisher will push for a digital-only release in the coming months?
Epic Mickey 2 was planned for a January 2013 release on the PC and from the looks of it, it won’t be coming to our platform anytime soon!
