Now here is something really cool. YouTube’s ‘RwanLink’ has shared a video, showcasing Gerudo’s Fortress from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5. And, honestly, this might be one of the coolest things you’ll see today.

Contrary to CryZENx’s fan remake of Ocarina of Time, this fan remake goes for a more cartoonish style. This took RwanLink 3 months to create. The video starts with a cool cinematic, and later on we get to see some “gameplay” footage.

This isn’t the first time RwanLink has experimented with a different art style. In November 2023, he shared a Studio Ghibli teaser for Ocarina of Time. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend doing so.

What’s interesting about this fan remake is that it uses a completely different art style from the original game. So now, there are three versions of Ocarina of Time. There’s this one with a more cartoon-like, “Prince of Persia” style, the Studio Ghibli version, the modern high-tech UE5 version made by CryZENx, and the classic original game.

Sadly, this new Unreal Engine 5 demo is not available for download. It was made only for the creator’s portfolio. This is kind of a bummer because many fans would love to download and try it themselves. Still, the video is very cool, and a lot of Zelda fans will enjoy watching it.

Need for Speed Carbon and Tony Hawk’s Underground also have some awesome fan remakes. There’s even a fan remake of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation that features Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz. But that’s not all. Fans have also made remakes for Star Wars: Republic Commando, Death Stranding, Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Fallout 4, Resident Evil 1, and Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park. Oh, and there’s a video showing MGS2’s iconic intro in UE5.
