Microsoft has released a new video for The Ascent in which we go in-depth with the Neon Giant team on their new ARPG game. Neon Giant co-founders Arcade Berg, and Tor Frick, along with Alexander Litvinov Fominski (Lead World Designer) breakdown the game’s world design, combat, player interactions, and more.
The Ascent is a solo and co-op action-shooter RPG set in a sci-fi cyberpunk world. In this shooter, players can aim low or high, switch weapons and equip lethal gadgets. Players can also take cover and use the destructible environments at their advantage and keep adjusting their tactic as they face new enemies.
As we’ve already reported, The Ascent will also support Ray Tracing and DLSS on PC. Neon Giant will be using Ray Tracing in order to enhance the game’s reflections and shadows.
The Ascent will release on July 29th.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
