Official in-engine reveal trailer released for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Activision has finally released the official reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This trailer features in-engine graphics, giving players an idea of how the game will look like (at least during the in-engine cinematics).

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will drop players into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s. This game will be a direct sequel to the first COD: Black Ops game. In its single-player campaign, players will descend into the dark center of a global conspiracy alongside iconic characters Woods, Mason and Hudson. The game will also have a new cast of operatives.

Additionally, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War promises to deliver the next generation of multiplayer and Zombies experiences. The publisher will officially reveal the game’s multiplayer modes on September 9th.

Lastly, and as we’ve already reported, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13th.

Enjoy!

  1. these are the most realistic faces i have ever seen in a videogame, other than that looks pretty standard for cod and the trailer is meh. The reveal trailers for cod have been top notch in the past, the last 4, not feeling it.

  2. I’d rather my games not have an expiration date. Being Activision, this will be tethered to some server somewhere.

I do like the Black Ops single player story arch and all, but ya, I won’t touch this thing unless it’s on sale for $5 or something. You know, the price of a rental, like it is.

      1. Well, everything out of Activision for the past few years, has been shoved through their launcher. Even console versions have required internet downloading portions, making the disc useless without the tether.

Just making a fairly safe assumption through a few years of precedent.

      2. “although the MW2R got cracked but no one knows”

this is what i mean, this always online think started with black ops 4 that was mp only and then modern warfare was online only despite having sp but mw2 remake was not online only, get it?

        1. “For the first time in a CoD campaign, players have some say in the creation of Cold War’s silent protagonist. Presented with a mostly redacted file, you can fill in the blanks of your background and psychological profile. Military background doesn’t make a difference in-game, but your psychological traits double as perks—Paranoid is a permanent boost to ADS time, Violent Tendencies is a damage buff, etc.

You can also choose your skin tone and gender. I raised an eyebrow at the three gender options of Male, Female, and Classified, the last of which will refer to the player with gender-neutral pronouns.”

  3. So this is a prequel to Black Ops 2 ? this is set right after BO1 so how the fu@ck woods is there ? There is a full story in the late 80s in Black Ops 2 so this game makes no sense.

    1. No… It’s SEQUEL to Black Ops 1.
They are changing the timeline they set years ago.
“NEW” Black Ops 2 most likely is in the works too 😉

  4. So is a remake of the OG Black Ops..we really are in the era of Remakes (for the last decade and a half)
EDIT: i will anwser to all of you here: unless this trailer is made of flashbacks mostly, i can see sections of missions from the original Black Ops in there, so it looks like a remake to me, but if is a weird presequel?, all right then.

        1. No, you know how you had missions set in the past that you did on that game in Angola/Afghanistan/Bolivia/Panama?
Well, it’s a whole game of that

    1. It’s not a remake at all
Looks as standard as ever and if anything the art design is kind of meh, no SJW sh*t though, so I guess that’s something.
I’m also sure you’ll be killing 500000 Russians and Vietnamese and not one Chinamen on sight.

    2. Forgot to add that the trailer music is also fitting unlike most AAA crap nowadays, so I guess that’s a plus.
Shouldn’t be, but the industry is just that bad right now

      1. Yeah, is not some mumble rap that the kids like nowadays.
Pretty good trailer, but then you remember is attached to Call of Duty (and i think Black Ops is among the best in the series imho). It feels like a waste, because everything looks so good.

        1. Wouldn’t call it good, but it respects it’s settings and understands atmosphere, that used to be the norm before these companies started getting more money than sense.

Examples: Celtic music for medieval England setting, Arab music in an Arab setting, classical music in a 18th century setting, techno/EDM in a cyberpunk/futuristic setting.

The Battlefield 1 trailer hit me in the gut with that sh*t, not only did they rape a perfectly good trailer by not adding the calssical 1942 tune with a WW1 flare to it but they also raped the White Stripes with that sh**ty a*s remix.

And Black Ops was trash all way through for me, though MW2 is to blame for starting that trend.

They turned what was a pretty grounded War setting franchise into a James Bond/Tom Clancy novel, mustache twirling villains and everything.

And that’s besides the lack of attention to detail, to the point that Norks and Cubans are f*king using FAL rifles as their standard issue and weapons from the late 70s and 80s are present in the late 60s.
