Modder ‘Halk Hogan’ has released a brand new video showcase for The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen. As this video compares some of the game’s default textures with the new ones that will be included in the Project NextGen version.
The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen will feature ultra quality lore-friendly 4K textures. Furthermore, the mod will come with high-quality smooth meshes, better objects LODs (Level of Detail). It will also have increased draw distance for some objects.
Halk Hogan was originally planning to release The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen in 2021. However, this latest version of the mod will now come out in 2022.
Back in May 2021, Halk Hogan also claimed that he was in talks with CD Projekt RED for a possible collaboration. Whether Halk Hogan will contribute to the official next-gen version of The Witcher 3 remains to be seen. For what it’s worth, CD Projekt RED has delayed The Witcher 3 Next Gen until Q2 2022.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

The modded HD textures change the colors too much for my liking, it alters the original aesthetic for the worse.
How so? AFAIK the mod has a lot of praise for its attention to detail while keeping the original artstyle, is clearly made to use with the vanilla lighting tho, i can see why it would have issues with a lighting mod.
This specific video showcased in the article doesn’t feature much alteration, but seek out on YouTube the showcase videos for Armors, Weapons, NPCs, and Clothing, and you’ll notice that his use of colors are slightly different. His reds and blues especially are not as striking as the ones in the original textures, and for that reason I never felt comfortable using the HD mod for long. I gave it a try for a while but kept feeling the game felt less colorful, and then I removed it and I was right.
Interesting, i use it for so long that i honestly don’t remember those things you point out in vanilla to notice it.
Thanks
Have you ever give your opinion on their mod page?
Has someone said the same?
I use the mod for a year now, can’t rightly notice any difference in the colors.
Wow, i gather from his videos that his work is extremely faithful to the source and high quality, so if a texture modder deserves the recognition of an official collab, it would be him.
And it would also be good for CDPR for some good will from the fans.
