Squadron 42 Mark Hamill

New Squadron 42 trailer compares its highly detailed real-time characters with the real actors

Star Citizen France has shared a trailer for Star Citizen and Squadron 42. This trailer compares its highly detailed real-time characters with the real-life actors. As such, this trailer will give you an idea of the game’s amazing graphics.

Squadron 42 is the single-player story driven game set in the same universe as Star Citizen. Cloud Imperium developes this SP game alongside Star Citizen. In other words, consider Squadron 42 the single-player mode of Star Citizen. Furthermore, both of these projects will be sharing the same tech.

Squadron 42 will be using the Lumberyard Engine, and will feature a a number of big actors. Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Henry Cavill, Gillian Anderson and John Rhys-Davis are some of them. Furthermore Liam Cunningham, Mark Strong, Craig Fairbrass and Ben Mendelsohn will also appear in it.

Speaking of Star Citizen, Digital Foundry has also released a new tech video for it. Thus, I’ve decided to also include that one below.

There is currently no ETA on when Star Citizen and Squadron 42 will come out. Still, Cloud Imperium plans to launch the beta phase for Squadron 42 in Q3 2020.

Enjoy!

    1. Fun that patented naysayers are jumping on new SC article before so called Whitenight 🙂

Scam become bigger everyday: SC adding more gameplay while Publishers are removing their triple-A to finish them (Anthem) or releasing unfinished crap (Fallout76) or planning to make more.. of the them with reboot of their past games.

Naysayers have something in common with Publishers: No ambition 🙂

  1. “This year we will finish,” says a quote from Roberts cited by the publication. However, the project head paused and added “probably” to his statement.

This is part of an interview made in 2016, with Chris Roberts.
    LOL
One must be really stupid to financially support these liars.
And we have one lurking around, the good old ball’s sucker Joe Blobbers.

    1. Lol…. Rage on me guys as much as you want 🙂

… +1.2 million individual backers and growing by ten thousands at every single patch despite all “drama” and prophecies of Doom.
backers supporting the most ambitious project around with quarterly update and SQ42 beta in few quarters for less than a copy-paste sequel served by Publishers if not unplayable at release (Fallout76) or removed because being a fraction of what it was supposed to be (Anthem) or not even on sight +10 years after initial announce (BG&E2).

      Keep coming 🙂

      1. Annnnnd, here it is!
        LOL
“backers supporting the most ambitious project around with quarterly update and SQ42 beta in few quarters”
        LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Go ahead, we love to see your stupidity.
And no, you’re not going to convince anyone with your ballsucking bullshyt!

        1. Convincing resident naysayer has never been my point ever 🙂
Providing facts and why new backers are joining every single day is what matter. Keep hating… no one is going anywhere with such attitude 🙂

          1. Hate?
            LOL
This have nothing to do with hate, it’s just facts.
Why a “game” that was supposed to be launched in 2016 is not even in beta stage?
And backers means nothing, since internet have proved us that in the game community there’s a big parcel of dumbasses who put money in scams everyday. Such as this one!
Go ahead and ask for the people you’re sucking now to prove us wrong. If they can!

          2. I keep hate the other option being uneducated about basic understanding of game development and finance.

This is indeed required to grab the fact two triple-A can’t be done in few years.. starting from scratch (12 guys, no pipelines, 6M$) when Publishers with Billions of $ each year take +10 years to release a sequel (Diablo 3), announce but not release (BG&E2) while current Alpha packed more features than any released single Triple-A… and this is not counting another year of contents and gameplay to be added…
Better pledge 45$ over a period of few years on ambitious project no publishers care to release rather than spend more for another sequel, copy/paste of past games. Shareholder benefits matter, not the gamer community.

Without surprise, most Publishers announced in 2020, reboot(s) of past games… or try to finish the ones they released as good to go but have to rewrite it from ground (Anthem).. without even a date of (new) release.

          3. Well, if I don’t know about “game development and finance”, there’s no problem!
But when “DEVELOPERS” doesn’t know it either, then you get this scam, saying that they’ll finish a “game” in 2016 but there’s nothing to show us in 2020?
I can see how these so called “game developers” from this garbage company know what they’re doing.
            LOL

And your desperate to use Anthem as comparison, show us even more that you’re only a ballsucker. One mistake is no excuse to others. If they (Anthem devs) lied about anything is no excuse to this company keep lying about EVERYTHING!

“Shareholder benefits matter, not the gamer community”
            AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So I guess the shareholders are going to buy the game when it’s finished? (Wich is never!)

Dude, you’re not just ballsucker, you’re stupid af too! LOL

          4. Nothing to show in 2020? You now understand why I use hater as a description of some behavior.

Current Alpha pack more features than any single triple-A released by multi-billionaires companies.

Let summarize your prophecy: “collapse 90 days top for sure!” 🙂

Keep hating. Patch are rolling in one after the other, more new backers are joining after each free weeks because they understand that what matter is not a date of release.

          5. You put a lot of words there, but they mean nothing.
There’s no sense at all on what you writing and that’s hilarious.
Prove me wrong, tell your boss to realease a game.
But you know they can’t do this, right?
But I do hope they can release the Scamdron42 in this year of 2017.
            LOL

          6. If you are looking for date, Publishers have plenty. Grab their products, no problem, meanwhile those looking to get what they want do understand what they pledged for, and it is not a date… which of course you will translate as “never” because none can be forced to be educated about basics 🙂

    1. That’s all part of the strategy to keep costs down. Wait until the actors are all dead THEN release the game. No royalty checks! Brilliant! Better yet, wait until all the backers have died of old age and never release the game!

  2. Guys, guys! Valve just released a Team Fortress 2 cinematic called Meet The Spy. You have to go see it, it just happened, like, right now.

  3. Squadron 42 looks like its coming along nicely; old video from a year ago though. Iv been enjoying the Star Citizen scam in alpha for over 300 hours now. Only cost me ~£30 too. If thats a scam, then I want more scams.

  4. From the title i knew something was wrong lol. “New trailer” got me interested, but then the comparison thing was an instant “wait what, again?” Then bam, the same video from over a year ago.

  5. They recorded the cut scenes YEARS ago and the SQ42 might, might come out next year. Who does that? SQ42 will be probably be amazing when it comes out, I just can’t belive how earlier they shot the mo cap and did the story stuff and barely have the alpha done at all.

  6. They recorded the cut scenes YEARS ago and the SQ42 might, might come out next year. Who does that? SQ42 will be probably be amazing when it comes out, I just can’t belive how earlier they shot the mo cap and did the story stuff and barely have the alpha done at all.

    1. Answer is simple: a team of 12 guys at end of kickstarter, with no studios, no pipelines and 6 M$… then growing slowly to +500 devs, Alpha 3.8 with quarterly patch and SQ42 beta by the end of this year.
Indeed they are performing much better than Publishers and there billions $ and thousands of devs… delivering year after year shallow copy/paste of another sequel.

      1. Yeah. As but after writing to store 6 years ago and filming 5 years ago, they are locked in. They have been changing ships and features of sq42 year after year. But because they already did all the mo cap and dailouge they are locked in, WAY WAY before the game is done. Mo cap and dialogue should be LAST not FIRST. They did all that stuff first to say look at our cut scenes. Look at our actors. Bro, I am a concierge backer. So don’t lecture me on supporting this company. The fact that they hired all these big name actors and filmed everything TOO early is just more signed of mismanagement.

        1. You can change ships totally, make them smaller or bigger, add new locations with mountain, replaced it by a lake, a volcano or skyscraper it does not matter at all.

Actors are used in some specific events during SQ42. Not different of Netflix series: shoot an actor x times for x minutes scenes for episode 1, 6 and 10 the same week and get back to home. That is the standard process.

They do not need to change dialogue of those actors. That is why they have writers filling in hundreds of pages with whatever the Director want.
There is a reason why a movie is finalized at the very last stage, with different version including Director’s cut.

I would like to have more guys around like CR performing so called “mismanagement” and providing in Alpha more features than any single triple-A around. Let’s see the final product if you don’t mind.
