Devolver Digital has released a new trailer for Shadow Warrior 2, showcasing twelve minutes of pure gameplay action. In Shadow Warrior 2, players will battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend. Shadow Warrior 2 promises to be as crazy as its predecessor, and will be released later this year on the PC.

    1. The enemies do stand in place fairly often, either to let console players melee them without too much difficulty or to generally make aiming easier.

Movement speed looks okay, all things considered. My standard for “fast” are old school PC shooters. Of course it’s fast compared to anything on consoles but why would that matter on PC?

        1. I don’t think it’s fast either. Nor can it be called slow. It’s just average, like new Doom.

  1. meh, looks like Far Cry 4 with more gore.

Floating health bars and damage numbers…really. This is for instant that gratification generation of gamers. Its reminds me of some mobile game with all those item drops and damage numbers all over the place.

    1. I agree with you, but on the other hand, it’s something no one tried yet (to combine a gore shooter with these kind of elements). Pretty sure damage numbers and hit boxes can be disabled. Everything else looks great though.

      1. The key difference it’s the core design IMO. Far Cry feels more like a open world game (nowadays) with FPS mechanics, Shadow Warrior 2 seems to be other way around, a FPS with open world as it’s level design.

        1. It’s not like Far Cry at all. Judging from what I read the world is not seamless, separated into different sections, which are randomly generated.

When I was talking about “these kind of elements” I meant Diablo-style elements like randomly generated levels and loot.

  2. I BET THESE GUYS HAD MADE A BETTER DOOM REMAKE THAN THOSE CLUSTER F/CJS THATS MAKING IT NOW. What say you?
