IGN has shared a video, showing twelve minutes of gameplay footage from the next-gen isometric action RPG, The Ascent. The Ascent will be coming on Xbox Series X and the PC, and this video will give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
The Ascent will be using Unreal Engine 4 and promises to take the genre to new levels. The game will support both single-player and up to four-player co-op modes. Moreover, it will offer a free-roam play style in a cyberpunk inspired dystopian world.
Through out the game, players will make allies as well as enemies as they explore the brimming arcology and its wide range of districts. Players will have to consider enemies’ height and weaknesses into account when fighting, making the most out of every opportunity. Moreover, players will have to take down even the worst opponents to find the rarest loot.

seems interesting
Not feeling it with this one.
meh
Ruiner with less red and coop, could work.
It looks more cyberpunk than Cyberpunk 2077…
looks more like a top down action game then a ARPG
Hopefully it will be a RPG, and then some kinda Street Samurai melee build, I’m not fond of ranged combat in ARGP’s.
But then it becomes pure melee, and not everyone is a fan of that either.
If you mean, that the game will allow for a melee character, then yeah, that’d be dandy.
thank god i don’t have to play cybershet 2077
-next gen
-top down
ok, overall next gen is gonna be a joke
ARPG’s are a thing of the past?
top down arpgs arent “next gen”
So they are a thing of the past then?>
I’m giving you a hint here.
“Next gen”
makes a indie top down game.
Overall the xbox event was a joke if they wanted to showcase the nextgen it was poor and with questionable choices.
With that said, i think first party titles with an obvious bigger budget will do that…(i don’t expect anything beyond what we already experience on PC), time will tell.
well, games take too much to time to make, so they got nothing to show off yet, neither does sony
Again, I was throwing you a huge hint, dude.
I’ll spell it out for you:
Do you think “next gen” games are just meant to be all 3rd person and FPS based games?.
do you think they shouldnt be at this point? Check out my next gen…reads notes “retropixel platformer”
so whats so “next gen” about it?
SO we can’t have any top down games, or even games that are 16-32 bit, let alone voxel based?.
as next gen?
On next gen systems
next gen so you can play top down indie games, whats so next gen about it?
So we can never have these types of games on next gen systems then?.
DURKA PLEASE GET THIS MASSIVE HINT I’VE BEEN THROWING YOUR WAY FOR DAYS NOW, STOP PLAYING SODDING COY FFS.
is this what you would call an next gane game? Is terraria a next game game because its on ps4 instead of the ps3?
You’re constantly twisting words, and I’m asking you a question.
Rendering in third person view is too much for them…
amnesia the ark was a top down game and they changed it to third person while the camera is looking downwards and not being able to look up and down because there is nos ceiling due to the game initially being top down. Or that zombie game how to survive that got a standalone third person version.
looks totally next-gen, amazing, but at least in the video, it runs at barely 20-25fps
what a dumb kunt.
Huh, art style looks pretty great. Gameplay, ehh
Xbox Series X is more powerful than your PC.
Not bad, looking forward for more gameplay videos.
Lost me at top down
