Here are 45 minutes of new gameplay footage from Bioware’s Anthem

BioWare has hosted a 45-minute livestream featuring new gameplay from its upcoming sci-fi game, Anthem. This video features lead producers Ben Irving and Mike Gamble as they play and share some new details about this new title.

In Anthem, up to four players explore and battle in a dangerous, mysterious place populated by great characters and a unique BioWare story. Players will also create stories of their own while they play, so no two journeys are the same. Javelin exosuits make their pilots powerful heroes in the world, with awesome weapons and incredible special abilities that allow for combat and exploration in a hostile environment. Players will be able to customize and personalize their suits with unique paint jobs and gear so they’ll have the right tools to confront almost any situation, and look good doing it.

The game is powered by the Frostbite Engine and a demo will be released on February 1st. However, this ‘VIP Demo” will only be available to those who have pre-ordered the game or EA Access members, and will be a real representation of the final game.

Enjoy!

    1. let me guess there called anthem boxes or something. its gonna be dlc/micro-trans up the keister and you all know it.

    1. Which is why I’m still not touching any of their games until we see at least a year of quality WITHOUT any microtransactions whatsoever. Think I’ll be waiting in my death bed.

  1. I kinda have a weird feeling about this game.. dont know why but this game will flop .. or some how able make some money but will not bring profit to EA that much.

    1. but dude grinding on warfarme, destiny 2 and now this while giving those companies money for microtransactions is so much fun….said the npc….and dont forget there is fallout 76 because apparently grinding through repetitive tedious tasks is where gaming is in 2018.

  2. I hate streaming. The full video should just be available in full in real-time. They should film the videos in full in advance and then stream the completed version.

  3. It looks alright. I dont particularly like the gunplay though, theres a really heavy case of aim assist going on. If you pay attention you can see bullets seem to magiclaly hit things even when your reticle isnt on a target, the weapon sounds and general handling just seems really bad in general.

After all these years Bioware still just suck at designing good gameplay.

  4. the action looks borring, i do not like mmo shooter destiny like games and this one i’m sad to say its the same, too bad for the nice looking world

  5. All well respected AAA studios died when shareholders discovered mobile in-app purchasing models with microtransactions. They are struggling so hard now to pass these microtransaction milking machine scams using the least amount of drip fed content and investment they possibly can.

Hey that’s just fine, but they can’t expect people to want to buy the game – which then usually results in bashing/insulting consumers online on how entitled we are. Business needs to be win-win, not win-lose.

      1. People who want to capitalize on other’s weakness and stupidity. Microtransaction garbage wouldn’t exist if people weren’t buying it.

There are many examples of people who willingly open themselves up to exploitation by Publishers/Developers on the net. The most ridiculous example is a guy in California a couple of years ago that was embezzling money from his company and spent 1 million dollars of it on microtransactions in Game of War.

Every year a game like League of Legends takes in billions of dollars in microtransactions. Publishers want a piece of that pie. There’s only so much money to go around though so most Publishers will fail but still they will try.

How do we turn back the clock now? I don’t think we can.

  6. I mean…. they obviously put so much work into it. It’s going to have PC controls… why can’t the character just be centered in the damn screen….. jfc….

    1. I believe we will get RDR2 on PC eventually. It could be 2020 when the next gen consoles come out. They could do a remaster and sell it for full price again. Most gamers are too impatient to wait that long and hence there will be people who game on a console and PC who will end up buying it twice.
