Here are 10 minutes of the Hidden Depths mission in Anthem

A new video has been released by IGN which follows the ‘Hidden Depths’ mission in EA’s most anticipated game of 2019, Anthem. The video showcases Interceptor, Storm, and Colossus exo suits, or ‘javelins,’ completing a mission to find a secret manuscript hidden within a high tower.

IGN emphasized that the trailer shows how Anthem will integrate the game’s narrative within the gameplay itself, which can support both single and multiplayer. Some more of the banter between the player and the NPC’s has also been demonstrated, as well as a focus on how players can expect the Colossus and Interceptor to perform on the battlefield.

In Anthem, up to four players explore and battle in a dangerous, mysterious place populated by great characters and a unique BioWare story. Players will also create stories of their own while they play, so no two journeys are the same. Javelin exosuits make their pilots powerful heroes in the world, with awesome weapons and incredible special abilities that allow for combat and exploration in a hostile environment. Players will be able to customize and personalize their suits with unique paint jobs and gear so they’ll have the right tools to confront almost any situation, and look good doing it.

It is just a tad bit strange seeing the ‘Alpha Gameplay’ watermark at the bottom of the screen given that Anthem releases in just over a month. Perhaps it would be wise to take the release date with a pinch of salt, but the combat looks extremely solid so hopefully there are just a few rough edges that need to be rounded off.

Anthem is expected to release on February 22nd .

Enjoy!

  1. Why do I have the feeling that this game’s development was started in a conversation between two producers that said something along the line of

“You know Destiny right? Well let’s make it again, but add in mech suits, and take all the boring aspects of Destiny and Warframe and combine this into a video game to sucker in the casual crowd who Destiny appeals too?”

They are going to eat this game up like its a $120 porterhouse from a shi**y steakhouse masquerading as a fancy establishment.

    1. You speak truth. This is the game Mass effect Should’ve been. Instead we got dumb Andromeda and now this always on-line foolishness. My dream is for the internet to crash for 1 week and no one can access it. lets see how many people are still excited about purchasing Always-Online games. God i wish there was a way to crash the INTERNET for even 72 hrs. i’m talking 100% black out.

      1. It’s not necessary to crash the whole Internet, just target and take down DRM servers. Now that would be some productive hacktivism.

      2. Google going offline for 45 minutes a few years ago stopped 65% of internet traffic flow. Most of the internet is on Amazon servers so just hack google and amazon and 99% of internet traffic should stop.

      1. bEAware delivered top secret “Awesome Button DLC” for Anthem to IGN. Using Awesome Button will produce ecstatic noise from IGN experts playing the game and prefabricated reviews to save time of IGN expert having a blast with Anthem. 🙂

  2. I dont get whats with the negativity this game gets even though its not released yet. It seems like it can be fun to play with friends. Let us judge it when the game comes out. Why cant we gamers nowdays wish that the games that come out would be good rather then to say things like hoping a studio would close out etc.

    1. >I dont get whats with the negativity this game gets.
That’s maybe because you are slow or you usually don’t get things.

      >it can be fun to play with friends
Watching paint dry is also fun with friends. stop making these kinds of excuses for these s**ty games.

      1. People have different taste and expectations for games. Me and my friends pritty much play anything together as long as the game has even some good qualities 😀 People are right to be causios especially after the latest mass effect. I just dont get that some gamers just want some games to be bad games or just outright fail at launch. Personally I think its just sad.

        1. Bad taste and low expectations means low standards. people want them to be failed ? it already looks like a failure, yes it’s sad, instead of getting a worthy sequel they will get an online only looter shooter filled with microtransactions with the most boring gameplay loop ever.

          1. Even with my ¨low standards¨ I will always judge the game fairly when it comes out 🙂 I will always try to keep positive hopes on the game until I have played the full release myself and then judge it 🙂

          2. There is always the option to refund the game 24h after the game is first lauched. Plenty of time to play the game and decide 🙂 And Im not giving it ” blindly ” based on all the gameplay we have seen on their streams and other videos 🙂

          3. Based on all those gameplay videos we have seen so far, it’s a below avrage looter shooter, graphics are nice, but that’s AAA games these days, they all look shinny but lack good content good design and good business practices.

      2. Your wrong, if this was the same team that made Andromeda, then yes, OK! I would feel the way you are, but this is made by the same team that made Mass Effect 2. so that inspires confidence. And I have played the game and really liked it a lot. Way more then Destiny 2, thats for sure!!

        1. Doesn’t matter who will make the game. they have to design the game around microtransactions. being better than Destiny 2 doesn’t mean it’s good.

          1. Are you sure we are looking at the same game? Numerous times on their streams they have stated that the only microtransactions will be cosmetic only and all future content will be free to all game owners.

          2. Are you sure we are living in the same universe ? Numerous times devs specially those who have publishers like EA lied about their games.

          3. I´m pretty sure we do m8 😀 Like darks said it seems you really dead set against the game so there really is no point to continue this 😀 You have your opinion and I have mine 😀 My point was just that I wish people would hope that the games that come out would be GOOD; instead of wishing that the the game is bad and that it fails.

          4. Well i guess sheeps will be sheeps then. giving another chance or defending a company that killed tons of games and studios, their last decent game was made almost a decade ago and s**t practice after another and worst each year is what likes of darks trying to do.

          5. You and so many others are clearly so dead set against the game that you cant get the sh*t out of your ears. Its been said and stated several times, there are no loot boxes or pay to win items. Get it though that think stupid head of yours.

          6. You and couple of stupid shills are so butthurt over the game you like or fan of, that you cover your ears and making noises.

No lootboxes doesn’t mean it wont have microtransactions or any other sorts of stupid practices in the game, like pre-order to get this crap or early access etc… get it through that dead brains of yours.

    2. BioWare doesn’t exactly inspire confidence these days. Most people have learned not to expect very much from them. Can you blame them?

      1. No I dont blame them. People are right to be causios especially after Mass Effect Andromeda. But I do despise anyone who would like to see a game fail outright.

        1. While i would normally agree with you, this is EA we’re talking about. I dont know anyone that ive spoken to that wants EA to still be in business. All they do is rip us off/ruin everything they touch(star wars, mass effect are good examples)

  3. Well this looks like Andromeda on Steroids, like Mass Effect AndroDestiny!!!

Which means it looks like hot garbage!

I can just reinstall Destiny 2, the shooting looks more satisfying, love the hand cannon, and Bungie cut all ties with Activision, which means Destiny might become good.

Too bad Bioware is in too deep with EA, is too late for them.

Still probably after playing a couple of hours I’ll forget I have Destiny 2 installed, till I have to make space for RE2, Metro Exodus or Sekiro!

Or you know play Vanquish and have a Platinumgasm!!!
