Earlier this month, we informed you about the early access release of the NaturalVision: Evolved mod for Grand Theft Auto 5. This mod introduces a lot of modern-day graphical features to Rockstar’s open-world game. And, as we can see in the following comparison video, it feels like a next-gen remaster.
Created by YouTube’s GTA Lab, the following video compares the vanilla version with the modded one. Thus, we can finally see in action the graphical improvements that this mod brings to the table. And, as you will immediately notice, these improvements are easily noticeable.
NaturalVision Evolved is a work-in-progress visual overhaul mod that features numerous changes. This mod aims to improve the environmental weathers, lighting system, ambient colors, and tonemapping. It will also enhance world textures, building models and more.
Furthermore, the mod introduces screen-space ray traced global illumination. Additionally, it has improved screen-space reflections, better building reflections and new emissive lights.
Unfortunately, there is no public version of NaturalVision: Evolved as of yet. Still, we’ll be sure to let you know when there will be one. Until then, enjoy the following comparison video!

You can’t beat vanilla. I bet if most people didn’t know which was which and were presented with the comparison shots, not many would choose the less vibrant versions. Worse still, you get absolutely abysmal performance relative to vanilla. And for what? Washed out garbage.
Natural vision is oversharpened and needs a saturation boost. I paid the patreon thing to get access and try it. 1000000% not worth it and ended up just making my own reshade which looks far better and just adding a handful of texture mods
natural vision looks bad here colors and brightness looks dull and its too sharp, vanilla is better in this comparison
to my eyes it looks about as bland and washed out as real life does captured from a camera. the ones you see every day uploaded to youtube. the only real purpose this would serve to emulate such color spectrum.
looks horrible.
The “Vanilla” one isn’t a “real” GTA 5 Vanilla… It look like with a previous version of NaturalVision !! I really know GTA V and I can confirm that’s not a Vanilla version here !! ?
Well I’m not impressed here’s a contrasted colour depth shot and now here’s a washed out, bright smoothed NaturalVision.. Not next gen :p
this is what happens when you write articles before without watching the comparation video https://media2.giphy.com/media/kwCLw42hH2cxvIywIi/giphy-downsized-medium.gif
lol john next gen, no way just looks like a white filter type added in reshade
The only mod that really makes this game looks better is VisualV. Is perfectly implemented and all feels organic.
Next-gen remaster? Are you kidding me? It looks like what it ultimately is: a mod made by amateurs, using sh**ty hi-res textures that don’t fit the original and are as bland as can be, using reshade (which 99% of the time makes things even uglier than they originally were, and this is no exception), all with visible performance drops. It looks like utter sh*t. The vanilla version looks better by far, even the comparison is a joke.
Hi, there’s a new version released on the GTA Lab channel. It’s an improved version!
Thanks for the heads up, we’ve updated the video.
Sorry about this comment section, I’ll make sure any future pieces of content of mine you want to use are actually good ones 🙂
Why does this look much more bad than the one on the trailer?
Imagine paying for a reshade preset
Vanilla looks better overall, more natural. Mod is too shiny, textures are less diverse and too clean looking, distance fog is completly gone, giving it an unrealistic feel. More like UnNaturalVision Evolved. GTA V doesn’t need graphics mods yet, imo.
I don’t understand how people here are saying that it doesn’t look better.
It’s definitely better but how the F is the “vanilla” so washed out and bleak? That’s not what I remember.
