It’s been almost a year since the announcement of The Sinking City 2. And today, Frogwares released its first gameplay teaser trailer. Moreover, the team has launched a Kickstarter campaign for it.
The Sinking City 2 promises to be a full-scale survival horror game. According to the devs, it will put emphasis on combat and exploration. Players will be able to use an arsenal of 1920s-inspired firearms and melee weapons to fight against Eldritch-inspired admonitions.
The game will have a semi-open world environment. As you progress the flood waters will rise, changing the layout of locations when you return.
Moreover, players will scrounge for limited resources and balance a finite inventory. My guess is that this finite inventory system will be similar to what we saw in the Resident Evil games. Additionally, they’ll be able to solve optional puzzles.
The Sinking City 2 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. However, we don’t know whether it will take advantage of Lumen or Nanite.
There is currently no ETA for when the game will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the trailer!
