Now here is something really cool for all our old-school fans. YouTube’s ‘EnzoElRich YT’ has released a video, showcasing his fan remake of God of War 2 in Unreal Engine 5. This video can give you a glimpse at what a faithful remaster/remake of that game could look like in UE5.
What’s really cool here is that this remake has proper gameplay mechanics and cut-scenes. It even has a menu and graphics settings. On top of that, it appears that it supports DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Gen.
In other words, we’re talking about a fully playable demo of this fan remake. This isn’t just a map showcase. Instead, this project remakes one of the early stages of the game. It has new cut-scenes, and it lets you fight enemies.
In case you did not know, Sony has announced an official Remake Trilogy for the classic God of War games. These remakes will look better than what we see here. So, don’t assume that this is what you’ll get with the upcoming God of War Remake Trilogy. After all, this is a fan project. And, for a one-man project, it looks great.
Although this is a fully playable demo of the fan remake, EnzoElRich YT has not released it to the public. So, sadly, you won’t be able to run it on your PC and experience it yourselves. That’s a bummer, but I totally understand why the YouTuber has not released it. Sony would have immediately DMCA’ed his channel.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool. A few months ago, we also shared an amazing remake of Toy Story 2. Then there’s this cool fan remake of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Let’s also not forget this fantastic fan remake of STALKER that’s worth a look. Oh, and don’t miss the Grand Theft Auto 6 fan concept in UE5; it’s pretty impressive.

Need for Speed Carbon and Tony Hawk’s Underground also have some awesome fan remakes. There’s even a fan remake of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation that features Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz. But that’s not all. Fans have also made remakes for Star Wars: Republic Commando, Death Stranding, Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Fallout 4, Resident Evil 1, and Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park. A former Infinity Ward and Wargaming artist has also remastered Half-Life 2’s train station intro in Unreal Engine 5. Oh, and there’s a video showing MGS2’s iconic intro in UE5.
