As promised, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have shared a new video for Elden Ring, featuring 15 minutes of gameplay footage from it.
In Elden Ring, players will ride through the vast fields, gallop over rolling hills, and leap to the top of rocky crags on your ephemeral steed, revealing a world teeming with life and danger.
The game will have mythic creatures that prowl the veldts, ineffable horrors that lurk in the bogs and marshes, and all manner of soldiers and itinerant warriors. Moreover, shy creatures will nibble on sweet grasses or scuttle through the underbrush.
Furthermore, players can try dozens of skills and find one to best suit their style. Players can practice stealth to avoid danger or catch enemies unaware. Additionally, they can use the environment, the weather, and the time of day to gain an advantage.
The game will also rely on dodge and parry mechanics. Players will have to learn the art of combat where they must read their enemy’s intentions. Thus, a well-timed dodge or parry could be the difference between life and death.
Elden Ring will release on February 25th, 2022.

Wow never thought a Souls game by FROMSOFTWARE was gonna finally allow me to play a full COOP experience with my friends !! That’s seriously a big deal to me, have we ever had a big AAA game before that allowed us to coop like this before and explore dungeons and kill big bosses like this ? can’t wait.
My only concern with this game is the world looks a bit empty, I hope it’s packed with Npcs and more wildlife at least.
I wish I could be as excited, but the Invasion has me worried. People invading your Coop game and ruining your experience does not sit well with me. Unless they make this an option to be turned off, I wont bother with the game. Cant stand PVP, and wont bother with this type of nonsense if you cant control it.
The first run should be a solo one. CooP is just for the fun as as you said, people tend to ruin the game.
It looks like they added summon spells to placate all the whining and crying from a majority of games journalists. I assume the horse combat is also added to make combat encounters easy for said games journalists.
I like the Souls series, so I’ll probably buy at launch and enjoy it, but I wish it weren’t so derivative. The art direction, textures, animations, and combat are all very similar to Dark Souls 3 with some slight tweaks or changes. I wish they would have mixed up the formula a bit more, like how they did with Sekiro.

Looks awesome, so many sick enemy designs. Attacks seem to have real weight, and the layout of the legacy dungeons looks insane. So many diverging paths and way more verticality than in any of the previous games. The main boss shown just looks incredible, and you have to remember this is essentially the equivalent of Vordt in DS3, so the boss of the very first area.
There’s already a huge variety in colour palette just in the few areas we’ve been shown. Supposedly 6 legacy dungeons, yet the entirety of that huge looking world map only includes 2. There hasn’t been a souls game in over 6 years, and you can tell they have been working at this flat out the entire time. Which is just crazy to think about, Fromsoft quality with this kind of scale is extremely exciting. Bring it on.

Witcher 3 but with good combat from a mix of Sekiro and Dark Souls. My only worry is the open world map (is huge) and how is gonna affect the level design, my favorite aspect of the Souls games.
Besides all that, is just another Souls game which is boring after 3+ games with the same gameplay design.

My issue is the lack of identity the game has, looks like a generic dark fantasy game, a mix of all the previous Souls games.
Love them or hate them, Souls, Sekiro and Bloodborne while mechanically similar (at the core) they were distinct in terms of visuals and presentation.

Dark Fantasy is appealing at least to me.
Asian fantasy setting is borderline idiotic, i cant stand all the color, childish cutsey monsters, custey spirits, custey animal-based ghosts and gods, straw hats, short straw huts, snake dragons, tiny wooden castles, stupid knife swords, wooden armor, and so on, it looks like from a children book.
European mediaval dark fantasy has everything in it, its dark, gloomy, depressing, feeling lost, in some ways realistic since we grew with it, demons are bloodthirsty and ugly, castles are stone made, huge and towering, armor is cool, dragons are huge and angry and so on
The setting in BB is ok, but i dont like anything with sea, fish monsters and all that, kinda like cheap and basic

Tis would be a great game if it didn’t have that Sh*tty Dark Souls Combat System. Everything so slow and laggy just for the sake of. Even opening a chest gives me anxiety. Just fuqin OPEN already! These guys make the same game for the last 10 years, put a different name on them and doesn’t get flack for it. From Software use to have a more diverse catalog, now they are just the Dark Souls company and that’s alright for them because they get rich off it regardless. Never played any of the Souls games before but if they were to name this Dark Souls 4 then I doubt anybody would question the stark similarities to the series. Graphically, even for an open world game it looks subpar. But that’s to be expected from most Japanese games these days sadly. Gameplay could be decent but there was nothing remotely exciting about that presentation for me.
