Crytek releases an official 8K Tech Trailer for Crysis Remastered

Crytek has just released an official 8K tech trailer for Crysis Remastered, showcasing some of its new graphical features. The game will feature high-quality textures up to 8K resolution, Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth of field, new light settings, motion blur, Ray Tracing and more.

As we’ve already reported, the game will have a new “Can it Run Crysis?” Graphic mode. This mode is designed to demand every last bit of your hardware with unlimited settings, and will be exclusive to the PC version. Additionally, the PC version will support both hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing, as well as DLSS.

Crysis Remastered will release on September 18th and will be exclusive to Epic Games Store. You can also find the game’s official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy!

  1. The color palette, the lighting overall makes it look way artificial and colder, almost generic too. The overall geometry looks more simplistic (just look at the rocks). I like the new effects and particles tho.

  2. Saber unfortunately kinda ruined the original art direction. Which was based on real life tropical lighting. It’s too generic now.

Also a major negative is that they are remastering the Xbox 360/PS3 version. Hence why the lower quality models. And ray tracing is just a gimmick.

  3. I prefer the look of the original in all the scenes except the lush forest part which looks loads better because of the darker shadows.

  4. the art direction is pure generic! now all we need is a reshade that sticks to original! i’ll play this when the Reshade is out!

  5. Yeah the defiently Did some good work here. Looking not to bad at all IMO!
Will be cool to be back with the game. So now is the question – When will Crysis 4 come out 😀

  6. Pretty disappointed in the complete lack of art direction for that iconic sunrise scene. All the warmth and that wonderful red/orange sky is gone now, replaced with a colder blue light. Shadow mapping seemed to take a hit as well.

    Aside from that looks decent.

    1. I also noticed that the “enhanced textures” oddly seemed to lack any of the parallax mapping that the original had opting for all sand instead of sand and stone of the original.

Honestly, me personally, I don’t find any of this really impressive at all.

      1. Dumb but impressive. The game was never going to hit 60 fps, so using the overhead for this wasn’t the worst decision. Should run great next gen.

      1. You can see parts of the bottom of the bridge not visible above. It’s RT. Besides, digital Foundry already covered it in detail. It’s also in their trailer.

  7. All the haters pretending it looks worse because it’s on Epic. It looks better in every way. But, then again, the people here have no idea what they’re looking at anyway. :/

    1. Being on Epic has nothing to do, why you try to force a bias over legit criticism? don’t be ridiculous, the remake looks like a joke…to the point that Crytek themselves have to damage control after the reaction over the first trailer. If you like to pay a remastered port of the 360 version at premium price, that’s on you.

  8. Looks quite good beside the darn bleaked out colors, used to almost feel the warmth from the scenes. (Like you should, its a tropical island) Now it looks kind of cold and dead in comparison to the more vivid predecessor.
