  1. PC had the 720p resolution in the 90’s, I feel that whoever has bought into the next-gen consoles must feel a little bit ripped off from all of this.

    1. As TB said “next gen”

      Seriously though bf4 2013, 720/900p untable fps…hardline 2015, 720p/900p unstable fps

      MUH OPTIMIZATION!!!!

      1. Frostbite 3 runs very well on PC though so it isn’t an optimization issue. The issue with consoles is their weak GPUs. The developers targeted 60 FPS and that meant scaling back the resolution to maintain a certain level of detail.

    2. Well, in their defense they did purchase a $350 box that can at least “play” the game so we cannot feel too bad for them.

    3. So? Let people buy what they want. Most console gamers don’t care a lot about the difference between 720p/900p and 1080p. And I say this as a PC gamer (current rig has a 4th gen i5 CPU and 2x Gigabyte Radeon R9 280Xs overclocked).

      1. ? I think you’ll find that a lot of them do care + £50/60 on a game, they should at least have 1080p by now.

        1. I strongly disagree. The vast majority of console gamers either don’t care or are okay with the level of quality they’re getting now.

You see, you and I are a very small minority. We’re the kind of people that care about this stuff. We’re readers of DSOGaming, after all. We read gaming news sites, participate in online discussions about technical details (like resolutions, pixel fill rates, etc), and play the latest games. If we were the majority, then there would be a lot of pressure on Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo to release gaming consoles with better hardware.

          1. I agree that the majority of console owners don’t care, but after the subject of developers dropping down the PS4’s resolution, to match the Xbox One’s for sales purposes, has become more of a hot topic for more and more people of late. Either or, I’ll be enjoying it in 2.5k next week 🙂

          2. Actually, console gamers do care about 1080p because it’s been marketed to them so much. I mean how many people brought The Order 1886 for for it’s in-depth, ground breaking gameplay? LOL

          3. They care as much as reading 1080p and believing it. Those kinds of gamers won’t go online to do the research.

Also, let’s not talk about that interactive movie disguised as a game.

  2. My thoughts.

EA’s worthless Marketing department has put up another subpar trailer like crysis 3 and dead space 3.

Will this game work on launch? Visceral says yes, consumers dont believe them.

Will EA close down visceral if the game flops?

Why the graphics look more like bf3 than bf4?

Will ea use Denuvo on this despite no one gives a crap about sp?

Is the sp gonna be good this time around? Or should they drop it alltogeher? I mean they said they might release dlc episodes.. but we dont talk about dlc anymore.

    1. no buy for me, but i guess this time they did something nice with it’s singleplayer campaign which you can arrest people or choose different paths but we will see. ofcourse it will use Denuvo, most people i know are not angry with this protection and looks like it don’t cuse problems, however after i changed my gpu i couldn’t run DAI and it took me hours to activate it again.

      1. DRM that hurts customers is stupid. I wouldn’t buy Hardline even if I really looked forward to it. It’s the same reason I didn’t buy Dragon Age: Inquisition.
