  1. The trailer makes it look like an actual game but:

Absolver is an online melee action experience

This line makes it sound like some multiplayer-only hipster art project.

So I’m a little confused about what this game is actually supposed to be.

    1. This trailer sucks(look up the other gameplay dev videos) you can play the whole game 100% offline and in SP mode and with no DRM.

Just go to GOG and look up Absolver.

I bought it(on GOG) and intend to play it only offline and in SP mode. If this is not the case(even though it is written on the games page) I will post back and let you guys know if it sucks, false SP offline mode etc.

        1. Just letting you know I have a follow up as requested about the SP and offline mode on the game, just check out the response above ^^^^

      1. [ follow up : as promised ] I now have the GOG DRM free version installed…. and wait for it… the game is awesome and can be played offline and as a SP game!

Ok first off the whole SP confusion, the whole time I was like WTF is this a SP offline game or not? Before it came out I just did not get what it was, so I get anyone’s beef for I had it as well.

To play in online mode you have to use GOG Galaxy client. I just downloaded the regular install files and by default this is a offline game, it can’t be played online without Galaxy! At the title screen the top left corner has [ offline mode ]. I next played the game with fire wall blocking the exe, np it ran perfectly. Then to be sure it is really a offline game I unplugged my LAN cable, the game still 100% worked normally as I played and progressed(lvled up etc).

The game it self is actually really rad like sort of Dark Souls but not so un forgiving which I really appreciate. Game is has massive depth to it, loot, gear, fighting styles, a truck load of stuff to learn and master. You can make a lot of character builds and styles. Love the look and style too, I played for half an hour and really liked it.

No refund for me its 100% a keeper. This is my brief run down test run of the game. If I find anything weird I will let you know, but the fact that GOG has a offline version of the game its seems totally all good. I would not get the Steam version personally(to be safe) it could have DRM and some online stuff forced GOG is certified from my play through.

        1. Agreed 100%, seems like an awesome game. Picked it on GoG, run flawlessly offline (tried with the router turned off).

The art style is gorgeous, and has a ton of stuff to learn and add to your moveset.

I wish you could bind a key to walk slowly though, I have an Xbox One controller but love playing with K&M anyway (nothing like a quick flick of the mouse to parry a blow).

          1. Cool. Yeah its a pretty rad game, I am impressed. I was really worried it be MP only so it was a great surprise.

I hope the game is long though, that would be my only worry but it seem like it would be since there is so much to level and progress. It wouldn’t make sense if it was only 3 hours long.

I am playing with a Xbox One game pad as well, it works really well. Generally I don’t use the K&M for this sort of game. Still I think K&M would work well if done right, for sure a mouse parry would be really fast and work well.

Good times hey 🙂 , just wait for October I have a feeling that month is going to be crazy! So many good games coming out soon.
