All Hell Breaks Loose – Black Mesa Source Is Now Available

This is it everyone, this is the time you’ve all been waiting for. Black Mesa Source, the stand-alone remake of Half-Life that is powered by the Source engine, has just been released. The vaporware of mods, the Duke Nukem Forever of mods, the mod that most thought would never see the light of day, the mod that has been under development for eight whole years… is finally here with us. PC gamers will need Source’s SDK to run Black Mesa Source. As we’ve said and before, this version of Black Mesa Source does not feature the Xen area of Half-Life. Steam Big Picture Announced

Valve announced a major update to the Steam gaming platform called Big Picture. Steam’s new Big Picture mode lets gamers access all of their favorite Steam games on a television. With the press of a button, Steam displays a new full-screen user interface optimized for readability and interaction on TV. Valve Announces First 10 Steam Greenlight Games

Valve has just announced the first 10 games that were given the green light from Steam’s community. Black Mesa: Source – New Screenshots Released

The Black Mesa team has released a new set of screenshots for Black Mesa Source. Black Mesa Source is planned for a September 14th release and will not include the Xen environemnts of Half Life. The team felt the need to release Black Mesa Source right now, and Xen (completely reworked and expanded) will be added at a later date via an update. Enjoy! ‘Find The Source’ Is Perhaps The Best Black Mesa/Half Life Tribute You’ll Ever See

Now this is how you create mind-blowing tributes (or trailers). Pedro Calvo has created an amazing video tribute to Black Mesa, with Joel Nielsen’s music and Victoria Teunissen on vocal duties (Connor Pelkey has also halped in creating this video with his Voice Engineering skills). And quite frankly, this is the most beautiful tribute we’ve ever seen. It’s emotional, Victoria’s voice is great, Joel’s music is outstanding, and the whole video feels so warm and calm. Half-Life 2: Silent Escape Mod Released

Team Pro-Bones has released an interesting mod for Half Life 2. In Half-Life 2: Silent Escape scientists have organized the project of “Silent Escape” in which they must bring people to a safe place. The main character of the game is Sean who will visit many locations, such as the dark forest, an abandoned mine and evening forest.
