A couple of days ago, we had the pleasure to interview Ubisoft’s Luc Poirier, team lead for the rendering team for AC4 at Ubisoft Montreal. Luc shared some interesting tech information about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and detailed some of the features that have been implemented in the next iteration of the AnvilNext engine. Luc also talked about Windows 8 and DX11.2, as well as AMD’s upcoming API, Mantle. Ubisoft has released a new update for Splinter Cell: Blacklist that is packed with general optimizations, as well as support for 3+ GPUs and for 16:10 aspect ratio. Moreover, this update fixes the flicking lights that were present on certain multiple GPU setups, and comes with various improvements for the game’s online mode. Good news for all PC gamers as Watch Dogs’ Tech Director, Sebastien Viard, has confirmed that the previously mentioned system specs for Ubisoft’s title are not official, and that the company will unveil the proper specs for its sandbox title really soon.
