Double Fine’s ‘The Cave’ officially announced and gets its first screenshots and trailer

Double Fine amd SEGA have officially revealed The Cave. The Cave is the latest project from Ron Gilbert and looks similar to Frozenbyte’s Trine series, albeit a bit more cartoon-ish. This is a 2D perspective puzzle adventure platform with 3D visuals and looks quite promising. The game draws inspiration from Gilbert’s earlier work on PC adventure games and it should not be confused with Double Fine Adventure, the company’s other adventure game that raised over $3 million on Kickstarter earlier this year. In Stacking players can explore a vintage world inhabited by living Russian stacking dolls as you jump into more than 100 unique dolls and use their special abilities to solve a wide variety of puzzles & challenges. Psychonauts 2 could happen if Double Fine’s Kickstarter hits $20MM

Imagine that. Double Fine’s Kickstarter has hit over 1 million dollars in less than a day for an adventure game. Double Fine have achieved their goal and since there are still 32 days, a lot of gamers began wondering a simple question; what would it take for Tim and his team to create Psychonauts 2? Would a possible increase of Double Fine’s Kickstarter revenue help fund it? Indie adventure/puzzle ‘Stacking’ is coming to the PC

Double Fine’s boss, Tim Schafer, revealed in G4TV that Stacking, the extraordinary Matryoshka doll adventure game, will be released soon to the PC. In Stacking, you play as teeny Russian Doll Charlie Blackmore, who must take on a puzzle-filled quest to rescue his family from The Baron. No release date has been announced as of yet.
