Doom Reborn Is A Doom 3 Mod That Aims To Recreate Classic Doom Titles In id Tech 4

Bethesda has announced that Doom 4 (or plain DOOM) is under development and those who pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order will be able to participate in its beta phase. Since that beta test won’t launch anytime soon, it is the perfect time to remind yourselves what Doom is. And while the classic Doom titles are still awesome (especially thanks to Doomsday and ZDoom), a new mod aims to somehow modernize the series. Meet Doom Reborn; a Doom 3 mod that aims to recreate Doom 1 and Doom 2 in id Tech 4. “DooM the mercenaries” mod is almost complete, gets new gameplay footage

Our reader ‘Cristian Fabian Munoz Isla’ has shared with us some new details for his amazing mod for Doom that brings Resident Evil’s characters to it and changes the game’s camera perspective from first to third person. According to Cristian, this mod is 99.5% complete, so hopefully we’ll be getting it next month. Brutal Doom – New Blood Decals Showcased, Inspired By Duke Nukem 3D

Brutal Doom is THE mod for id Software’s classic FPS title. Created by modder ‘SGtMarkIV’, this mod brings a new meaning to the word ‘gory’. SGtMarkIV is currently working on a new version for it and has showcased the blood decals that will be featured in it. As you can see, these new decals are better than those featured in the vanilla version. Not only that, but their animation will immediately remind you the blood decals that were featured in Duke Nukem 3D. Enjoy! Brutal Doom Looks Ludicrously Amazing – New Video Showcases Blood Decals On Sprites

Modder ‘Sergeant_Mark_IV’ released a new video, showcasing a new feature of Brutal Doom that will be implemented in its next version. As a result of Sergeant_Mark_IV’s work, all decorative actors and objects – in other words, all 2D sprites – will be covered by blood when players explode an enemy to pieces. Brutal Doom looks ubber sexy, and gives a new meaning to the word ‘brutal’. There is no ETA yet about Brutal Doom v19b but we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Enjoy! Mortal Kombat DooM – Demo Is Now Available

Cristian Fabian Munoz Isla has informed us about the demo of his Mortal Kombat mod for Doom (that is playable with zandronum, skulltag, zdoom and gzdoom). As Cristian told us, this demo version contains MK1, MKII and UMK3, and 6 maps (3 console rooms and 3 arcade room maps). Mortal Kombat DooM can be played on 1 on 1 or tag team ( 2 vs 2 with 4 players), and some finishing moves (fatalities, friendships and babalities) are already supported. According to the modder, this mod now supports all four classic 2D MK games: Mortal Kombat 1, Mortal Kombat 2, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. These clips gives us an idea of what id Software’s classic shooter would look like with today’s standards. Modder ‘Sergeant_Mark_IV’ has finally released the latest version of his amazing brutal mod for id Software’s classic shooter. This new version of Brutal Doom comes with new fatalities, new smoke effects, improved blood decals, much improved melee combat, new animations for a number of enemies, and adds sticky gibs.
