Battlefield 4 Revealed, Medal of Honor: Warfighter Pre-Order to offer Beta Access

Seems that Electronic Arts has made a terrible mistake and revealed something that might disappoint all BF3 fans. According to Origin’s pre-purchase page of MOH: Warfighter, Battlefield 4 is under development and those who decide to pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition of MOH: Warfighter will gain access to its beta phase. Electronic Arts was quick enough to respond but our friends at MP1st have managed to capture a screenshot of that pre-order page. DICE had plans for BF3’s DLCs right from the start, Armored Kill to feature the biggest BF map

Remember when developers were creating their games with all of its content? Well, it seems that those days are long gone. Every game is now built with DLCs in mind and Battlefield 3 was no different. According to Inge Jøran Holberg, Operations team Producer Björn Johnsson approached some of DICE’s designers and asked them if they had any ideas for “Xpack 3”, the third expansion pack for Battlefield 3 that would follow up the infantry focused Close Quarters. In other words, Electronic Arts had already deployed its DLC plans for BF3 right when the game got released in October 2011. Fantastic Battlefield 3 Montage shows off incredible skills and mind-blowing kills

We have to agree on something – some players are better skilled than others. And even though some of us are really cocky about their BF3 experiences, we have to bow and give our respects to some other players. So, YouTube’s member ‘BF3Cayin’ has created an amazing BF3 montage with over 5 minutes of pure pwnage. It looks fantastic so go ahead and enjoy the video. As a bonus, we decided to also include BF3Cayin’s earlier montage video that was released back in June! Continue reading Fantastic Battlefield 3 Montage shows off incredible skills and mind-blowing kills

Battlemon is an amazing mashup between Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Battlefield

Now that’s what we’re talking about. YouTube’s member ‘Wintergore ‘ created one of the best mashup videos between Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Battlefield. Battlemon starts with a Metal Gear Solid feel to it, with the isometric camera and the alarm sound effect. It quickly goes into a small RPG fight (in a Pokemon perspective view) and is followed by a ‘remix’ of Pokemon’s main theme. And once again, players show what we would be getting if there were mod tools for Battlefield 3. Damn you DICE. Enjoy the video below! EA enters next-generation fight: Frostbite 2.0 is built for PS4 and X720

Following Crytek’s and Epic’s statements about their next-generation game engines, Electronic Arts decided to step in and talk about DICE’s Frostbite 2. In an interview with Gamasutra, EA Games’ label executive, Patrick Soderlund, said that Frostbite 2.0 is built for next-generation hardware and that the PC version of Battlefield 3 was just a small treat of Frostbite 2.0’s capabilities. This Battlefield 3 Machinima makes us wish for some BF3 mod tools

Mr Kees de Koning created an interesting machinima for Battlefield 3 that involves a race with lots of explosions. This machinima is basically a cross between Blur/Split Second and Battlefield 3. And after watching it, you’ll definitely miss the mod tools that were released for Battlefield 2 and are nowhere to be found in Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3’s fanbase is huge and there is a huge potential for some mind-blowing mods or total conversions. Unfortunately though, DICE thought otherwise. And no, that ‘Frostbite 2 is too complicated for modders’ thing is the worst excuse we’ve ever heard. Enjoy the video! Is this the first screenshot from DICE’s Frostbite 3.0 Engine? [BOGUS]

Hayssam Keilany, creator of iCEnhancer, shared an interesting new screenshot from what appears to be DICE’s Frostbite 3.0 Engine. According to the image, this is a shot from DICE’s Internal Test and showcases a wall and a Depth of Field effect. As the headline reads, this is a shot from Frostbite 3.0’s Pre-alpha build. DICE and Electronic Arts have not revealed anything about Frostbite 3.0 and we are not sure whether this is a legit shot or not, so take it with a grain of salt. Truth be told, the font of the letters seems a bit weird so this might be bogus. [UPDATE] After further investigation, it seems that this shot is bogus (mainly due to the font of the headline). Instead of deleting the post though, we decided to keep it. We don’t agree with Keilany’s attempt in using such a headline, but guess that’s a way to get everyone’s attention. Not that the shot itself shows much to prove that is indeed from a next-generation scene, but still. Continue reading Is this the first screenshot from DICE’s Frostbite 3.0 Engine? [BOGUS]

Battlefield 3 Conquest in Real Life

Israeli Animation College Production created an amazing video, in which they showcase Battlefield 3’s Conquest mode in real life. This is really an amazing live action video as it looks quite similar to Battlefield 3. There are explosions, tanks, helicopters and… the running animation of the medic class is simply lovely. There are some montage issues (and the tank vs heli sequence could be better) but still, it’s an astonishing fan-made video. Kudos to Israeli Animation College and this video made us wish for a Battlefield game with this kind of image fidelity. Damn, next generation can’t come any sooner. But anyway, enjoy the video everyone! Continue reading Battlefield 3 Conquest in Real Life
