Battlefield 4 – Mantle Update Now Available, First Mantle Benchmarks Unveiled
And the time has come everyone. DICE has launched a new update for Battlefield 4 that brings Mantle support to it. Not only that, but the company has revealed the first Mantle benchmarks and according to them, PC gamers will notice a significant performance improvement with high-end CPUs (we’re talking about a 50% boost), while owners of low-end CPUs will notice a smaller performance increase. AMD Is Confident That Battlefield 4’s Mantle Update Won’t Be Delayed To February
Well, you gotta admit that what is currently happening with Battlefield 4 and AMD’s Mantle is… interesting and hilarious. An update for BF4 that would bring support for AMD’s API was planned for a November December release, however it got delayed to January. January is almost over and according to some reports, this patch is supposedly delayed to February. Battlefield 4 Extended Cinematic Tools Showcased, Allowed On Non Ranked Servers
YouTube’s member has shared a new video, showcasing his upcoming mod for Battlefield 4. This mod – called Battlefield 4 Extended Cinematic Tools – is described as a hack for BF4 that ‘gives the player access to different camera and visual settings, allowing a greater variety for cinematic videos.’ Naturally this mod is now allowed on ranked servers but as DICE’s Gustav Halling claimed, PC gamers can use this on non-ranked servers that do not run PunkBuster. Battlefield 4 – New PC Update Addresses Memory Leaks, Still No Word On Mantle Support
DICE and Electronic Arts have released a new update for Battlefield 4 that aims to address some of the game’s memory leaks, as well as improve general stability and rebalance jets. World Exclusive First Look At Battlefield 4 Running On Mantle API
As we’ve already said, AMD showcased Battlefield 4 running on its upcoming low-level API, Mantle. Below you can find the video from that short moment. Unfortunately AMD did not reveal any comparison slides between DirectX and Mantle, though it claimed that Battlefield 4 was running 45% faster on Mantle. New Battlefield 4 Update Addresses SLI/CrossFire Flickering Issues
Well that was quick. DICE has launched a new update for Battlefield 4 that addresses those annoying flickering issues that occurred on multi-GPU systems. This new update is 170MB in size and comes with some additional fixes for ‘three of the top crash issues on the PC platform.’ So, does this mean that the game will actually be playable this time around? Battlefield 4 – New Update Released, Breaks SLI & Removes Grass Physics
Well, we gotta give DICE and Battlefield 4 the award of best clusterf*ck, ever. So when Battlefield 4 was released, there was major flickering when SLI was enabled. With its second (or third) update, the game was fixed and was working fine with SLI systems. And then came another update that had a HUGE impact on the game’s SLI performance. And now with this latest update that has just been launched, that awful flickering is back with a punch. Way to go DICE. DICE Rolls Out New Updates For Battlefield 4 & Battlelog, Changelogs Included
DICE has released a new update for Battlefield 4, as well as a new server update for Battlelog. According to the release notes, these new updates come with various fixes, miscellaneous stability fixes that further reduce the number of client crashes and server side crash fixes, including the top seen crashes on R14. Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new update for the PC version of Battlefield 4. Although this patch does not bring any stability improvements to the table, the development team promised that its next update will further increase stability. Question now is when this ‘next’ update will hit the Internet and whether it will come with the promised Mantle support.
