Ubersampling is back.
I kinda felt the resolution was a tad better.
previously as in a couple of months ago right? Cause it was quite the drag when they announced the downgrade due to lower performance rigs.

Beautiful! I noticed that just like every other open world game, visuals are inconsistent. Some areas look really good, other look just OK but overall it’s best looking open world game out there. So far videos look great and if rest of the game is also like those videos then this game is going to put Bathesda to shame. Their game’s worlds are usually empty and animations are poor. This is first open world game from CDPR with limited resources and look what they’ve accomplished with their hard work. Bravo guys !
Play GTA V, you might be surprised how amazing it looks on PC. But I have a feeling Batman Arkham Knight’s graphics open world graphics might come out on top in the end.
Doesn’t it still have ridiculous pop in issues and such ?
horrible , along with frame drops too, i play on high(fxaa , habo+) on 1080p with my 860m , i get around 26- 30 fps , but there are random framedrops to 22 , stutters popins just 2m ahead…horrible
But it is the best looking game out( beats dragon age by far)
ah, that’s way too close for pop in. I think that should detract from the graphics side of things. A game is not really good looking if it needs to have evrything popping in 10m ahead just so that it can look that good.
Still, from what I’ve seen Unity does look gorgeous. The lighting and GI is very good.
You know, maybe you should definitely lower a few settings. Don’t settle for sub 30. A stable 30+ framerate is bare minimum
Does it look better to you than Witcher 3 though ? (there’s plenty of high quality 60fps gameplay to look at on youtube)
most are actually compress YT videos , so it is hard to compare. i would say character models are equally good with me leaning towards w3 due to npc s looking beautiful.misc meshes- W3
lighting and textures- cant say till there are uncompressed videos. But i would say they are equally good.(Again i am leaning toward w3)
about the 30fps thing, thats a sad story. i dont mind even if i get 24 fps , but i like it stable. if i lower the settings 900p /hbao
i get around 30 -40 fps which wildly varies along with huge frame drops and stuttering.
so nomatter the settings it looks laggy and glitchy due to the stutters.
Pity , if they had optimized it better i would get a constant 30
well, you can have a look at the Gamersyde videos for significantly better quality
I’m pretty sure TW3 is going to be well optimized though 🙂
Yeah, Unity looks amazing. No doubt it’s currently best looking open world game.
ACU is not an open world game, you’re inside one city all the time with no glimpse of open environments like lush jungles, mountains etc. Witcher 3 is a true open world game and it’s impressive that they managed to optimize it to the extent that we only need one graphic card (GTX 980) to achieve max settings at 60 fps, it’s still quite high but when we compare it to ACU where even a 980 faces hard time keeping 60 fps, it’s impressive.
So you are saying if an open world game does not have jungles and mountains than it is not open world. LOL.
So what’s your definition of open world then, how would you define it ? just a big city with no variety in environments, no real time day/night cycle and no requirement of transportation is open world for you ? I don’t even need to write “LOL” because it’s quite obvious in your case.
So if it’s too difficult for you to understand let me make it easy for you. Open world means, “you can reach what you can see in far distance” that’s why I mentioned jungles and mountains because when I climb large buildings in ACU I can see a big world outside but I cannot go there, not even an inch outside the city so that’s not open world. Previous AC games offered much higher level of freedom.
Never been a fan of Bethesda games for its graphics because I think the graphics engine used in FallOut and Skyrim is crap. The stories and ambience is what makes the games good enough for you to enjoy.
Just compare the horse animations in Skyrim against The Witcher’s 3 horse and the overall body/facial/character animations, and it makes it look like a game from 1998.
Games doesn’t need to look realistic but the more organic the better. I love Guild Wars II visuals, and if you think about it the graphics are not that jaw dropping, yet the whole game looks like a paint with massive worlds and details. (lovely game and my favourite MMORPG)
Yeah, animations are the first thing to notice. I like Skyrim and stuff but in technology, Witcher 3 is way ahead of any Bathesda game out there.
this doesnot look like high settings… as you said , they are indeed inconsistent ( assuming they are all from the same setting) the last shot with 2 trolls looks really good when compared with the triss/yenna with geralt
EDIT- but no matter how high the settings , hair gives it away even when other conditions are really good
Looks here, looks that…bla bla bla…The game will be amazing because of the story and the gameplay alone. If you play games just because of the graphics you are all doomed.
Yet the game looks amazing for a fully open world game even though you can notice some things like the terrain not being too much detailed, probably just because of the graphics engine. (the way the mountains are shaped with simplistic curvatures and not so lifelike looking)
Textures look really good…look at those materials…come on guys.
PS: Been playing The Witcher 2 all morning and just to think that it will be all that but in an open environment with all the twists in the story, the amount of characters, all the backround and such…oh god, can’t wait to play it!!!
Agreed.
Well, some people want less (story), some more (story+graphics)
That’s the beauty.
Mmmm triss..
Triss or Yennefer? Such a hard choice
red head master race ( ?° ?? ?°)
Gotta love them red heads, especially with red being my favorite color.
My favorite color is red too but I prefer Blondes.
Yeah most of the time for me really it’s brunettes or black hair, sometimes blondes, and I rarely ever see any redheads so being impressed by one is a rarity in itself I guess.
Why not both ( ?° ?? ?°)
If the game allows me to pursue both of them, then I will attempt it 😉
But yes I’d have both nothing wrong with that 🙂
So Geralt, what do you do for a living?
I f’ bitches. And sometimes I hunt monsters.
Whats the news on saves import??? Do I have to look for my Witcher 2 saves or was this great idea removed from the game?
