  1. They even changed the assets, huh ? Unlike the other “remastered” crap that’s the only thing changed is resolution and little post-processing effects

    1. The whole point of a remastered game is to look as close to the original as possible while upgrading the assets (as in, improving them with better textures for example).

      1. Which is a good thing because some developers release the same game twice with something even sweetfx/reshade can do and call it “remastered”.

  2. Did i read right ? On Xb1, the ultimate edition will come will the whole GoW serie and on PC we’ll only get the 1rst ? or i’m nuts ?

    1. I’m believe that is correct. in XB1 you get the games to emulate in the new retrocompatible thing, they aren’t remkes. so it’s unlikely the PC version will get the same offer.

  3. I don’t mind it being a Windows 10 exclusive if and only if it makes use of DirectX 12. Otherwise, this is Halo 2 Vista all over again. Sure, Windows 10 is a free upgrade this time around but not everyone wants to use it.

      1. Why can’t you install Windows again? Installation media can be downloaded online. All you have to do is install Windows 7/8/8.1 and then upgrade to Windows 10. From there, you can perform a clean install or “reset your PC”. And you’ll be good until you change your motherboard.

If that’s too much of a hassle, then buy a Windows 10 license for $119/$199 (Home/Pro).

Personally, I’d happily go through the hassle of the free upgrade if it means saving over $100.

        1. 1.-free upgrade is only available during the first year. you can’t upgrade a windows 7 to windows 10 in august 2016.
2.-the upgraded version is linked to your M/B. change M/B and your version won’t activate.
3.-Microsoft yet hasn’t answer the question if a windows 7/8 key will keep working after using that licence to upgrade to windows 10.

          1. If you change your motherboard, then you can use the automated phone system to activate Windows 10. As for activating after August 2016, you should be good if you tie your Microsoft account with Windows 10 and took advantage of the free upgrade offer at least once. Your unique registration key will be tied to your Microsoft account.

        1. actually it is true it is only free for the first year to trick you into installing it then buying it next year or so very smart of them really

  4. The Xbox One version is of course much sharper but look at the ATMOSPHERE

there is no ATmosphere in the Xbox One shots, the original has much more vibe

  5. Does it look a lot better? Yes. Does it look like a game to be released in 2015? Far from it, in fact it looks like a last-gen game. Let’s not forget that the comparison shots are from the first Gears game which was one of the ugliest games of all of last-gen. Back then Unreal had no shadows other than fake ones (projectors) under characters. It cannot be overstated how ugly Gears of War was. Compare these remaster shots to Gears 3 and you’d find that the resolution is the main difference.
