Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked gameplay proper-2

To the surprise of no one, Rockstar has not announced Grand Theft Auto 6

According to numerous rumors, Rockstar was planning to officially reveal Grand Theft Auto 6 this month. Well, October is almost over and, guess what? Rockstar has not announced GTA 6. Oh no, how can this be? But but but… the insiders said that this would be the month.

Now I don’t really know how this rumor started. Perhaps it was due to the fake rating on the Australian Board? Either way, things got crazy after that rating, with numerous “insiders” claiming that the trailer would be coming out this week.

Things got even more crazy when people started sharing information about this trailer. Some folks even said they had details about how the game looks and how it’s made. A few said that a private video from Rockstar was the one for Grand Theft Auto 6. Later on, other “insiders” claimed that the trailer would be released on October 26th.

But there were even more rumors. Some people said that Take-Two reached out to a website owner and asked for the website GTA6.com to be given to them by October 26. Others thought an announcement on October 24 made more sense. That’s because they thought that Rockstar hinted at such a thing when it released a T-shirt in GTA 5 Online (I’m not joking). Also, Metacritic created a page for GTA6, and suddenly, many folks thought this was a clue of an imminent announcement.

Well, it’s now October 29th and as you may have guessed, Rockstar has not revealed anything at all. No GTA 6 hint, no GTA 6 tease, nothing.

This shouldn’t of course come as a surprise. From what we know, Rockstar had never announced a new GTA on a Thursday. Instead, the company has made its game announcements on a Tuesday. October still has one last Tuesday (October 31st) so I’ll eat my words if Rockstar suddenly reveals it. However, it’s more likely for Manchester United to win this year’s Champion’s League than for Rockstar to reveal GTA 6.

This situation reminds me of what happened with Abandoned. But I digress; nothing can beat Abandoned. People believed for years that Konami and Kojima were involved with it. For months, people thought that the music Kojima shared on X/Twitter was a hint or confirmation that Abandoned was secretly a remake of Silent Hill. I can’t imagine how disappointed those who wanted to believe in it must have felt when they realized that Abandoned was a hoax and nothing more.

Anyway, Grand Theft Auto 6 hasn’t been officially revealed. That’s the takeaway. And, just stop believing whatever you see online. Yes, I know that some of you want to believe. But be careful. Especially when some people try to use your excitement to make a profit.
