GSC GameWorld has just released the first title update of the year 2025 for STALKER 2, and shared its full patch notes. This update is 13GB in size, so let’s see what it brings to the table.
Patch 1.1.4 fixes the crashes and freezes that could occur during the shaders compilation process. As such, the game should no longer crash during it. The devs claimed that it did their best to identify the issues that were causing those crashes and, eventually, fix them.
Title Update 1.1.4 also fixes a memory leak that could occur at Rostok location. Moreover, it fixes performance degradation when shooting/aiming on saves with long playtime. Plus, it fixes a random crash related to UI animations.
So, while this patch is 13GB in size, it can be considered a small – but important – update. Sadly, it doesn’t pack any major CPU optimizations. Thus, the game will still stress the CPU in villages and towns.
GSC GameWorld claimed that it continues working on the future update, and monitors players’ comments and feedback. However, there is no ETA for when the next patch will come out.
In theory, this patch should be compatible with the mods we’ve shared. So, it should work with this mod that adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. It should also work with this mod that allows you to fast-travel anywhere on the map.
Earlier this month, we shared a mod that allowed you to loot all mutants. This was a feature present in all previous STALKER games that was apparently cut from STALKER 2.
Finally, you can download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod but hey, some of you may like it. Then there is a mod that enables real-time dynamic flashlight shadows. Oh, and we also have a mod that can further improve the game’s graphics, and enable GTAO.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
