Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.1.224 brings improvements to New Game+ and Enemy Density

Hexworks has released a brand new update for its latest Souls-like game, Lords of the Fallen. According to the release notes, Patch 1.1.224 brings tweaks and improvements to the game’s New Game+ Mode and Enemy Density.

With Update 1.1.244, after you finish the game once, you’ll have a choice for your next playthrough. You can either move on to the next level (if you just completed NG+ 1, you’ll go to NG+ 2), or you can replay the current New Game+ at the same difficulty. You’ll keep your character, items, and progress, but the world, including characters and quests, will reset.

Patch 1.1.244 will also adjust the behavior of enemies. For instance, enemies will not follow you too far from where you spawned. In an upcoming update, the developers will also reduce the number of enemies. And they’ll tweak some crowd behaviors so enemies will not swarm players as often.

Unfortunately, Hexworks hasn’t made any changes to the damage players take when they do a perfect parry. This was one of my biggest complaints about the game, along with its not-so-great level design. Hexworks did lower the damage a bit from when the game first came out, but it still doesn’t make sense. Why get hurt when you do a perfect parry? A perfect parry should be a reward, not a punishment.

Anyway, Steam will download this latest update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.1.224 Release Notes

NG+
  • Added a new NG+ option that resets the game world, allowing you to restart with your current character level in the same world.
Enemy Density
  • We’ve improved the leashing system where enemies will stop pursuing you after a certain distance (varies by situation). This prevents overwhelming crowds of enemies if you rush through a map section.
Visuals
  • Fixed fog card artifacts in locations like the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers chapterhouse when Frame Generation was enabled.
