Modder ‘xoxor4d’ has released Update 1.1.5 for his amazing RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for Grand Theft Auto 4. So, let’s see what this update brings to the table.
For those who did not know, this RTX Remix enables real-time Path Tracing in GTA 4. This is a must-have mod for everyone who has a high-end GPU and wants to replay this classic GTA title.
Update 1.1.5 is a fairly small patch. Its biggest changes include fixes for meshes, glass, and the bergen wood textures. It also improves the metal surfaces on taxis and updates the rain particle effects. On top of that, the update lets you turn off projected light coronas and unhide certain textures. You can do this by editing the “rtx.conf” file.
And that’s it. There are some additional der tweaks, but most of you won’t find them very useful. Still, if you’re currently playing it, I recommend updating to this latest version. You can download it from here.
I also recommend downloading this HD Texture Pack for GTA 4 RTX Remix. This mod will enhance a lot of the game’s low-quality textures. Right now, it does not cover the entire game. Still, it can make your game look way better than before. You can find a showcase video a couple of paragraphs below.
As I’ve said, this RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod can also be used to enjoy Vice City. You can do this by installing the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition Mod. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition is a free remaster of the classic GTA game. This project brought all the missions, the whole map, and content from the original game to the RAGE Engine.
If you are into RTX Remix Mods, you can find similar ones for a lot of other titles. For instance, you can find such mods for Black Mesa, Star Wars Republic Commando, NFS: Underground, and Manhunt. You can also find some for BioShock, Morrowind, NFS: Underground 2, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, Max Payne, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.
In January 2024, we shared several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Manhunt, and Garfield Kart RTX Remix. Then, in February 2024, we shared videos for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, and Midnight Club 2. Be sure to also check out some early RTX Remix videos and screenshots for Fallout: New Vegas, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, COD 2, and Half-Life.
Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders released demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. Let’s also not forget the RTX Remix for COD: WoW. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for Painkiller and Left 4 Dead 2. Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Gold have also gotten the path-traced treatment. Lastly, you can download these amazing Path Tracing Mods for Doom, Doom 2, Quake, and Serious Sam.
Have fun!
