Is EA to be blamed for BioWare’s poor image and the resignation of its co-founders?

The whole gaming industry was shocked a couple of hours ago, when BioWare announced that its co-founders were leaving the company. The reason behind Ray Muzyka’s resignation was as typical as ever. Ray stated that he wanted to move on to pursue an entirely different set of challenges. What really striked us, though, was  Greg Zeschuk excuse. Greg said that he reached an unexpected point in his life where he no longer has the passion that he once did for the company, for the games, and for the challenge of creation. Was BioWare’s acquisition something that made Greg lost his desire and passion for games and his own company? Dead Island: Riptide – First Trailer Released

Deep Silver today released a trailer for the next installment in the Dead Island franchise which will be released in 2013. This is a CGI trailer, and is as good as the debut CGI trailer of its predecessor. You see, it’s all about the music, the emotional state of the characters, the desperation, the carefully selected camera angles, and the fact that a good day can so easily turn into a bloody hellish one. If only the game followed the horror element that is present in both this and the original CGI trailer of Dead Island. Now that would be a truly amazing game. But that’s not going to happen. Enjoy the video! Continue reading Dead Island: Riptide – First Trailer Released

New Cube World Footage Showcases The Game’s Multiplayer Mode

It’s been a while since our last look at Cube World. Well, good news everyone as Wollay has released a new video for it that showcases its Multiplayer mode and features new enemies, more items, rare zones, and dungeons. Cube World is one of our most anticipated indie games and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Quite frankly – it looks like tons of fun and although there are some bugs here and there (notice the ‘airborne’ leaves when the player is fighting a huge enemy), it could very well be the next ‘Minecraft’ phenomenon. New Brigade 2 Engine Screenshots Reveal Mind-Blowing Indoors And A Gorgeous Chess

We’ve said it in the past and will say it again – path (and ray) tracing is the future for gaming graphics. Following the previous showcase of the Brigade 2 Engine, Hayssam Keilany has shared two news screenshots from this new engine that showcase an indoor environment and a chess game. Naturally, there is that noise/grain effect due to path tracing but forget about it for a second and pay attention to the refraction of light and the reflections in that particular indoor environment. Quite honestly, this is what we’re really looking forward to. Enjoy and be sure to pay a visit to Keilany’s blog.
