  1. Amazing that this game is still getting patched. It’s been out for 13 years now but it still has a dedicated following. Might be time for another playthrough for me.

The game was a mess when it released. I don’t think it was even playable.

    1. It wasn’t working properly years after it’s release either. I got to a point in some cave with a boss battle and you’re meant to leave in a speed boat or something but it just bugged out and didn’t let me interact with it. So i gave up on it and never finished it.

  2. This guy is easily one of the most dedicated and essential moderns of all time. Bloodlines would have easily been relegated to the dumpster if he hadn’t come along and fixed it, giving us one of the last great cRPGs of that era. And it was at least another decade before studios like Larian would revive the genre to its former greatness.

    1. Agreed and for anyone who wants to play the game, it’s on sale on GOG for $5. iirc Troika was failing before the game was finished and was running with a skeleton crew.

    2. “one of the last great cRPGs of that era”

one of the last great? lol, name a better rpg since…. i`ll wait…. witcher1/2 or 3 you say? lol.

      1. Elex

For real thou sure it have ton of problems but as far as RPG mechanics goes? Its amazing. Much closer to cRPG then action-RPG like Witcher 3.

Its sad that most people think its simply mediocre action-RPG. Like there is ton of better ones being released. There are no other RPGs like Elex. Apart from Gothic.

Elex is like if Bethesda made Elder Scrolls 5 much more in vein of Morrowind rather then Oblivion and Skyrim. Which sadly after Fallout 4 I don’t think will happen.

seeing you wrote “better” WELL that is tough order but for me Elex is simply one of the best RPGs in years! I don’t like topdown/isometric cRPGs so while I bet Divinity Original Sin series is a masterpiece, its not for me. Its kinda sad that nowadays RPGs are either dumbed down mess or straight up isometric cRPG like straight up from frigin 90s. Why can’t there be something inbetween? LIKE ELEX!

  3. Hopefully Paradox is doing something good with this IP. If there was ever proof of a dedicated fan base; patching a 13 year old game has to be high up on the list. Can’t wait to try this patch out.

  4. After hearing so many good things about this game, I got it on Steam and installed the unofficial patches, but it was still so glitchy and unplayable after a few hours that I had to get a refund.

      1. Why would I lie about that of all things? lol What an obscure and meaningless deception that would be. I got the game. It glitched out several times not allowing me to progress so I refunded it. The end.

  5. One of the gripes people had about this game was that you can basically level up your character to be melee stealthy assassin but in the final showdown there’s no way to defeat the boss other than by just gunning him down. That out of the way the game is a really good RPG.
