Electronic Arts recently released a new set of games on Valve’s distribution service, including Dead Space 3, Titanfall 2, Sims 4 etc. Since its release on Steam, Titanfall 2 has been selling extremely well, and it has also become more popular than every Battlefield game combined.
The Steam launch of Titanfall 2 appears to be a blessing, adding thousands of new players each day. The game currently is at the top of the global best sellers list, and its current concurrent player numbers places it within the top 100 most played games on Steam.
Having a peak of more than 9,000 concurrent players, the game is proving to be more popular than Battlefield 5 and Star Wars Battlefront 2, at least on the Steam platform. Thanks to the sudden release on Steam, Respawn’s sci-fi shooter has experienced a surge in popularity.
Back in October 2016 when the game launched it had to face tough competition with EA’s own Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which kind of overshadowed the game’s interest by the community.
The general consensus among those who have played this game is that “Titanfall 2” is one of the finest shooters of recent years featuring a rich and memorable single-player campaign in a shooter, along with a fluid multiplayer experience. But the Game’s single player story campaign has also been a strong factor behind the game’s success and popularity, in my opinion.
With the release of the Game on Steam, we are seeing a large influx of new players, and as of this writing, the Game is currently the top-selling game on Steam, even beating out The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and new titles like Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Satisfactory.
Titanfall 2 came out in 2016, and Respawn learned from the mistakes of the first Titanfall, and when they released the game in 2016, Respawn did everything right to make the game more enjoyable, without frustrating players with season passes, grinding, and other similar stuff.
Currently the game is selling for 67% off, and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive on STEAM.

Mixer has been around for a year minimum – they used it to broadcast E3 2019 and it was around for months before that.

It offered nothing different from the competition and if anything it was even more draconic than Twitch with the only pros being more consistent moderation and less wh*res.

BF4 is easily better than 3, everyone says 4 is horrible because of the awful launch it had but ignores BF3 also had an abysmal launch as well. Difference being BF4 now has 120hz servers while BF3 is still stuck with 10hz servers just like it was at launch.

BF3 was more memorable imo. it had and still has much better maps and game modes than BF4.
I would agree with that except I much prefer the BF4 versions of the BF3 maps, I love that you can now actually take down that big tower on caspian border instead of having it collapse at the exact same time like it did in BF3, or how you can now play metro without the ugly blue filter.
BF4 has broken movement and gunplay modules. Just look at how clunky all weapons appear regardless of type, like the player model is sprinting with RPG in disguise as Ace 23.
Yeah it’s in no way perfect but I just can’t deal with getting shot behind cover or having my bullets magically vanish as frequently as that stuff happens in BF3.
What is the whole server hz thing even? I never understood it.
Is it faster? easier to kill? Matches your monitors frames? I literally think of 10 different things ;x
Server hertz is basically how fast a server is able to update from your computer and visa verse. An element it might update is where your bullets go, whether not they connect to the enemy player or not, Your location and the relation of your location to enemy players, etc etc. So basically the tick rate is how fast a computer client and a server can update from your computer to the server then back to the computer.
What a higher tick rate also does like 60 hertz does for instance is that it updates faster and with more packets of information in the game. So a 30 hertz server may send only 5 packets while a 60 one will send 10. This is good because if one packet is lost while updating its not as detrimental to playing the game which is what causes stuttering or lag in games.
Oh i see. Then why is there even a 30hz option in Battlefield 4 (and 5? I think 4 only if i recall)

For BF4 It’s beacuase EA rushed development of the game when dice was working in a new engine at the time Frostbyte . The reason why dice set the tickrate so low is because the networking capabilities of the engine wasn’t ready or setup for a higher ticket. Thats why BF4 was so broken at launch. For BF5 I honestly speculate it was rushed and because they don’t want to spend the money on high tickrate servers for regions that don’t have a high player base. Regions like Africa and the middle east for an example. It also helps for your internet connection if your connection doesn’t have enough speed for a 120 hertz or 60 hertz server its best to offer the option at least.
That actually explains it quite well. I got BF4 and 5 much later when they were all updated and fully working. I never saw why people were complaining at the launch of those games.

Bf3 and 4 never had 10 hz servers. 30 yes. And bf3 definitely did not have remotely as bad of a launch as 4 did. And 4 is definitely not even close to better.

Calling Battlefield 3 good is a stretch honestly, it looked amazing and still looks great, but the gameplay was an awful hybrid of mainline Battlefield and Bad Company that persists to this day and with less content and worse balance than both of those.
A worse game was made trying to pander to 2 fanbases, one of which has completely left the IP.

The SP was possibly the best FPS campaign I’ve played albeit short.
The multiplayer was cool but a little too ADHD fast for me, plus I really don’t like the super short match times ala CoD. I prefer Battlefield’s large open, long lasting battles.
