The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Has Gone Gold

Great news for all The Witcher fans as CD Projekt RED announced today that the game has gone gold. Yeap, The Witcher 3 is finished and will be released on May 19th.

Adam Badowski, Head of Studio at CD PROJEKT RED, said:

“We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game. From the corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all the places – we literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone GOLD and will soon be yours!”

Set within a truly open world, the game puts you in the role of a wandering bounty hunter and monster slayer, Geralt of Rivia. In The Witcher, you take on the greatest contract of your life – tracking down the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.

Enjoy!

  1. Great to hear that. Eagerly waiting for pre-load announcement.

Note to self: finish up the ITX PC build for this.

      1. I’m upgrading my PC but I don’t want to throw away the current hardware so I’ll put them into a second, smaller PC. Besides, I’m really doubtful that my gaming laptop is good enough for this game so I need the power of a desktop but portable enough to carry around(I’ll be going to my grandparents’ remote village for two weeks right after TW3’s launch week).

        1. same here mate.. in college no , so stuck with an 870m (~760)…..
i still have a 3yr old desktop that is pretty decent (i5 2400, just needs a powerful gpu though…waiting for the 3xx series release)

      1. 660. but the recommended for ac unity was a 780 , i highed it @30fps on my 870m… so hopefully , i can get high 30fps

  2. Congrats to the team I’m sure it was a long 3 years for them, hopefully soon they will see all their hard work pay off and the game sell really well. I for one cannot wait to just get lost in the world they have created. I’m just going to get on a horse as soon as I can and without looking at a map just pick a direction and head off into the great unknown.

  3. Still May 19th, right?

I have time to play through the first 2 again it seems.

And my GTX 980 has been hungrily snacking on some minor (though beautiful) titles in anticipation, RYSE, LoTF, ACV….. I think she’s ready for the main course.
