Ubisoft and development studio Blue Byte announced a couple of special stocking fillers for Christmas today, with the December 7th release of a new boxed retail edition of The Settlers Online. Currently available as a free browser game, the Standard Edition of The Settlers Online will come loaded with tons of valuable extra and exclusive content . This constitutes an enticing proposition for anyone looking for that special gaming gift this Christmas.
The Standard Edition will be available for £19.99 and loaded with content valued at over £35. This content can be redeemed with a code. Besides the game, players will also get their hands on an extra resource pack (400 stones, 400 planks, 100 tools and 20 settlers), 3 tactical maps (printed in the manual), a troop buff, 4000 gems and “The Nords 1” adventure to start them off in style.
Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, The Settlers Online is said to combine the popular gameplay elements of The Settlers franchise with brand new features suited to a persistent, web-based browser game. Players are able to settle a new city and join thousands of gamers already online to create or join guilds, trade resources and acquire and exchange bonuses to help each other out along the way to building a mighty kingdom.
