The Seed Announced – Single-player Post-apocalyptic Novel Text-based RPG

The Seed

MISERY Development Team has informed us about a unique game that will initially excite you and then will slightly disappoint you. The Seed is single-player post-apocalyptic 2D novel game set in Russia, 2026. Sounds interesting, right? Well the bad news is that this is a text-based RPG, meaning that you won’t enjoy any mind-blowing visuals on screen. The good news, on the other hand, is that The Seed may be the only text-based game to hook you up, especially if you are fans of Metro and STALKER.

According to the team, The Seed comes with a story progression that is heavily under the influence of player choices and morale.

“The player will be able to travel solo or join a group of other survivors. Conduct an outdoor hunting type of survival or roam the regions as a bandit scavenger.”

The Seed will feature more than 50 possible and very unique endings in total, something that is really, really cool.

MISERY Development is targeting Metro 2033, Fallout 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. gamers that ‘love the narrative and psychological aspects.’

The Seed is being developed for PC and Mac, and is planned for a July 2014 release. Those interested can back it up via its official website. The game may also be ported on mobile devices at a later date.
