The Ascent feature

The Ascent is a new solo/co-op action RPG that is coming to the PC in 2020

Curve Digital has announced a new cyberpunk solo and co-op action RPG, The Ascent. In this game, you assume the role of a worker, enslaved by the company that owns you and everyone else in your district.

“One day, whilst sent on a routine assignment to make use of your skills with a cyberdeck, you are suddenly caught in a vortex of catastrophic events. The Ascent Group, the largest mega corporation on the planet, shuts down for unknown reasons, causing the automated security systems to go haywire.

The survival of your district is threatened: rival corporations are trying to force appropriation and crime syndicates are looking to boost their black-market augmentation trade. You must take up arms to stop them from seizing control and embark on a new mission to find out what started it all.”

Through out the game, players will make allies as well as enemies as they explore the brimming arcology and its wide range of districts. Players will have to consider enemies’ height and weaknesses into account when fighting, making the most out of every opportunity. Moreover, players will have to take down even the worst opponents to find the rarest loot.

    1. it does! not in all areas but in areas where a game of this size is not expected to outshine others.
the overall experience is comprised of many things chief among which are the visuals.
my point is not that Cyberpunk looks bad, rather how good, indie games such as this one can look.

      1. I think its more the perspective that you are seeing the game, this is a top down, where as Cyberpunk is an FPS. You are going to see more of the world from an FPS perspective where as a top down can give the illusion that it looks better.

        1. I agree but I was actually referring to the cutscenes shown in the trailer, the graphics in those scenes seem to be on a par with Cyberpunk in some aspects

  1. I wish they would make an RPG with that visual style, not a Diabloid with a cyberpunk skin.

  2. Looks interesting but you just know that it will suffer from all the usual balance and loot issues.
